Antoniewo: Culture and Nature in the Municipality
Accommodation in Antoniewo
When looking for a hotel in Antoniewo, it helps to know how the area is laid out: the municipality includes cultural attractions in Kłóbka, while a path runs along Lake Lubień in Lubień Kujawski. This gives you two distinct focuses for planning your trip: the open-air museum centers on rural architecture and historical displays, while the lakeside path is the main attraction by the lake.
Open-Air Museum and Village Architecture in Kłóbka
The Kujawsko-Dobrzyński Ethnographic Park in Kłóbka contains more than a dozen examples of rural architecture; the oldest date from the 18th century. At the center of the reconstructed village are an old inn, a school building, a fire station and a church. There is also a blacksmith’s shop, an oil mill, a pottery workshop and a post mill, all reconstructed in the open-air village.
The park also includes thatched wooden houses, farm buildings and granaries from the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. These building types broaden the view beyond the reconstructed village center to include rural homes and farm buildings. Kłóbka lies among hills, forests and lakes and is known as the “Pearl of Kuyavia.”
Manor House and Folk Festivals
The open-air museum includes a manor house dating from the mid-19th century, where Maria z Wodzińskich Orpiszewska lived. Her life and artistic work are presented in the manor house. The house thus offers a different point of reference in time from the park’s oldest exhibits, which date from the 18th century.
The folk festivals in the “Z życia dawnej wsi” series feature demonstrations of traditional crafts, activities from the past and customs. Folk music with regional dances and themed presentations about past customs and rituals are also part of the program. The folk festivals take place annually. The three dates are the last Sunday in June, the first Sunday in August and the second Sunday in September. If a folk festival is the reason for your trip, check in advance which date falls within your travel period.
Lakeside Path Along Lake Lubień
In Lubień Kujawski, the path along Lake Lubień runs from the parking lot by the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus along the lakeshore to the amphitheater. It passes through an area of special natural value. Unlike a visit to the open-air museum, with its buildings and displays, this route follows the lakeshore from a named starting point to a clearly identified destination.
Ways to Visit and Getting There
Different ways to visit the open-air museum are available. Self-guided visits cover the village and park, excluding interiors. Separate guided tours of the village or manor house are also available, as is a combined guided tour of all the exhibits. The practical difference is whether you explore the village and park independently, without entering the buildings, or choose a guided tour of one area or of all the exhibits. Check the latest booking details before your visit.
