Stawki offers several distinct points of interest: archaeological sites, Kujawian craft traditions, and local sports and leisure facilities. The wider Aleksandrowski destination also offers additional nature and culture themes.

Archaeological Traces and Local History

The Stawki 2 archaeological site contains a Paleolithic–Mesolithic camp, as well as traces of a settlement from the Corded Ware culture. The Stawki 5 site contains traces of a settlement from the Funnel Beaker culture. The two sites therefore offer different archaeological points of interest: at Stawki 2, a camp and settlement traces meet, while Stawki 5 adds traces of another culture. If you are interested in prehistory, you can distinguish the sites by their respective features.

Another historical episode was the “Wielki Dzień Patrona” ceremony held in Stawki on January 11, 2002. It included an artistic program, the presentation of a flag, the opening of a new school wing with a sports hall, and an exhibition of photos, books, and documents about Maria Danilewicz Zielińska. Stawki was also one of the granges belonging to the Ośno estates.

Kujawian Craft Traditions and Community Life

The KGW Kujawianka in Stawki organized workshops in Kujawian embroidery and floristry, and made traditional Kujawian clothing as well as embroidered aprons. The workshops and items created add a distinctive cultural dimension to the village alongside its archaeological links. If you are interested in regional design, this craft tradition offers another way to explore Stawki.

The annual activities of KGW Kujawianka include a community Women’s Day, a celebration to welcome autumn, and decorating a Christmas tree together with recycled decorations. These events take place at different times of the year. If you would like to include one of these activities in your travel plans, ask locally about the date and access.

Sports and Leisure in Stawki

There is a playground and skatepark on ul. Sportowa. A notice from the municipality dated August 6, 2026, concerned temporary repairs; if you are planning a specific visit, check the facility’s current condition. The recreation and leisure area is also on ul. Sportowa, on plot 240/2.

Plans for the leisure area included a play zone with an in-ground trampoline, paths made of logs, a mound with a tunnel and slide, a climbing pyramid, a nest swing, and other play equipment. Plans for the skatepark included a pump track, quarter pipe, funbox, bank, and Ollie box. If you are planning to use this equipment, check its current status in advance. Stawki also has a sports stadium with an amphitheater.

Nature and Culture in the Wider Aleksandrowski Destination

Within the wider Aleksandrowski destination, the northern and northeastern parts of Aleksandrów Kujawski belong to the Puszcza Bydgoska forest complex, which consists mainly of mixed forests and pure pine stands. The landscape along the Tążyna in Aleksandrów Kujawski is characterized by its natural surroundings and is closely associated with a riparian forest habitat. The “Świerczyna” nature and education trail is 2.5 kilometers long and lies within the administrative boundaries of Aleksandrów Kujawski.

The cultural heritage of Aleksandrów Kujawski offers another area of interest: the railway station complex is associated with the city’s historical development as a Russian–Prussian border station. The original station building was constructed in 1860–1862. The restored building houses the municipal tourist information point and the Aleksandrowska Izba Historyczna, which preserves memorabilia relating to the city’s history. Check current opening hours before visiting these facilities.
