Momi: Momi Battery and Zipline Adventure
Accommodation in Momi
Momi Battery gives Momi a specific historical landmark: the site was chosen for its view of the Navula Passage. You can also consider a walk through the park, a zipline adventure, and a reef surf spot as distinct types of activities.
Momi Battery: History and Structures
Momi Battery was chosen as the site for a battery because it overlooked the Navula Passage. At the historic site, visitors can see guns and associated structures: a fire-control station, a gun room, a command post, a rangefinder, and a defensive trench. These features give you more to see than a single point of interest. Their names refer to different elements of the complex—from rooms and stations to technical equipment and a defensive structure. If you are interested in historic military sites, you can take in both the guns and other parts of the site.
The Momi Park Walk
The Momi Park Walk takes 10 to 15 minutes through the park. During the walk, visitors can see the guns and associated structures. The time estimate refers to the walk itself and gives you a specific idea of how long this part of your visit takes, not the journey there or an entire stay. This makes it easy to plan the walk as a separate part of your visit; it combines the site’s historical significance with the structures you can see there.
Getting to the Historic Site
To reach Momi Battery, follow Nabila Road for 5 kilometres toward Momi Bay. At the sign, turn right and continue for another 3.3 kilometres to the historic site. The directions therefore take you along Nabila Road first, then along the turnoff to the site. As road conditions can change, check the route before setting out. The drive consists of two distances, 5 and 3.3 kilometres; the Momi Park Walk, by contrast, takes 10 to 15 minutes. This lets you distinguish between the journey and the walk when planning your visit.
Zip Fiji and Cloudbreak
Zip Fiji operates Fiji’s largest adventure course in Momi, outside Nadi, with 16 zipline elements and abseiling. This is a different activity from the Park Walk: here, the focus is on ziplines and abseiling, while the walk takes you among historic guns and structures. Cloudbreak is a reef surf spot in the vicinity of Momi. It is accessible from the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay via a short boat ride. This gives you three distinct activities to consider when planning your trip: visiting a historic site, a zipline adventure, and reef surfing with boat access from the resort mentioned above.
