The facility also includes Primal Athletics, a training centre for on-ice and off-ice training. It caters to athletes of all ages and skill levels. Local history and heritage in the area
The land where the Town of Aberdeen is now located was settled as early as around 1900. In 1904, Aberdeen was organized as a hamlet and named in honour of Ishbel Maria Marjoribanks Gordon, Lady Aberdeen. The CN railway also reached Aberdeen in 1904. These three details refer to different aspects of the town’s history: the settlement of the land, the organization of the hamlet and the arrival of the railway.
One heritage property is located outside the Town: St. Paul's Bergheim Evangelical Lutheran Church is about 14 kilometres southeast of Aberdeen and is designated a municipal heritage property. The approximate distance and its location southeast of the Town provide a point of reference if you would also like to include heritage sites in the surrounding area in your travel plans.
