Logan Lake is a picturesque town in Highland Valley. At an elevation of 1,067 metres, it is surrounded by forested, gently rolling hills dotted with quiet lakes and rivers. Recreational opportunities range from trails and cross-country skiing to fishing and golf. If you’re looking for hotels in Logan Lake, this variety can help you decide what you’d like to focus on during your stay.

Trails and Ski Trails

The HVOA Trail Network covers 36 kilometres, with flowing sections and technically challenging features. The trailheads are in Logan Lake. This distance describes the network as a whole; it does not mean that every individual trail has the same character. When planning your outings, you can therefore consider the size of the network separately from the character of the trails and pay attention to the specific section you choose. Trailheads are the starting points for outings on a trail network.

The cross-country ski trail system also covers 36 kilometres; 2 kilometres of it are lit and intended for night skiing. The two networks therefore have the same total length, but differ in use and character: one has trail sections with a variety of terrain, while the other has cross-country ski trails, including a lit section. This makes it possible to compare the size of the networks without equating their different activities.

Fishing at Logan Lake

Logan Lake is a 12-hectare trout lake. Two aerators, a spawning channel and stocking contribute to its large trout population. There are two fishing docks on the lake, and only electric motors are permitted on the water. Population management, docks and motor regulations relate to different aspects of a fishing trip: they offer information about the lake, fishing spots on the water and permitted propulsion.

Logan Lake Municipal Campground has 70 campsites. Its facilities include washrooms and hot showers, a boat launch permitted for electric motors only, a fish-cleaning station and free loaner fishing rods. The motor restriction therefore applies both on the lake and at the campground’s boat launch. Loaner fishing rods and the fish-cleaning station complement the fishing facilities; washrooms and hot showers are additional practical amenities at the campground.

A golf course with its own character

Meadow Creek Golf Course is a challenging nine-hole course with hilly terrain, a prominent dogleg and a creek. In golf, a dogleg is a hole with a pronounced bend. The course format and its terrain answer different questions: nine holes describes the format, while the hills, dogleg and creek provide specific features. If you’re including golf in your travel plans, you can assess the course based on these characteristics and learn more than just the general fact that golf is available.
