Mirabella: Cycling Route, Architecture and Events
Accommodation in Mirabella
Mirabella combines a landscape shaped by irrigation canals with a cycling route and several notable buildings. Local events offer further reasons to visit. This makes it possible to plan a trip around different interests: cycling, architectural details or a specific festival date.
Water landscape and cycling route
Numerous irrigation and drainage canals run through the landscape and the town centre. Their dual function shapes the local water landscape; at the same time, the canals are part of the townscape. This means you encounter the theme of water not only in the surrounding area, but also in the town itself.
The Breganze–Mirabella–Maragnole route is suitable for cycling, has few climbs and runs mostly across the plain and through the countryside around Breganze towards Mirabella. It uses a cycle path alongside the Chiavone and an underpass beneath a road with separated carriageways. The landscape provides the setting for the route; the cycle path and underpass are specific features along its course. Check local conditions before setting off.
Buildings and historical references
The Mascarello complex is a group of buildings dating from the 17th century, surrounded by a wall, outbuildings and an oratory. Its different components draw attention to the complex as a whole, rather than to just one building. This makes it a different architectural point of interest from the individual features of the Church of Saint Valentine and the Vegra capital.
The Church of Saint Valentine has a bell-gable tower facing the road. The route offers the opportunity to see the 15th-century Vegra capital. The route to Mirabella also passes Villa Cogo-Zolin. The capital is the older of the two dated examples; the Mascarello complex dates from the 17th century. This helps place these two structures in their historical context.
Events and when to visit
The 62nd Bird Exhibition took place in Mirabella di Breganze from 6 to 9 November 2025. For several years, a local festival committee has organised three-day events dedicated to Saint Valentine; the programme may vary. The 50th edition of the Marcia dell’Amore took place on 11 January 2026. The two dates mentioned fall in different parts of the year: the Bird Exhibition was in November, and the Marcia dell’Amore in January. If you are planning a future trip, check the date of the relevant edition in advance rather than treating the November and January dates given here as a fixed annual calendar.
When choosing when to travel, consider whether you would prefer the flexibility to explore the town’s features or to visit for an event. The canals, cycling route and buildings offer points of interest regardless of any particular festival date.
