Get to know Martellago through its different facets: the distinctive landscape of Parco dei Laghetti, historic religious and villa architecture, and a golf course with artificial lakes. These landmarks give you concrete starting points for planning a stay.

Natural areas and planning your visit

Parco dei Laghetti is an area of special landscape and natural value. It includes an area of about 51 hectares made up of former quarries in Martellago. The area is part of the Natura 2000 network and is designated as an SIC, ZPS and, since 2018, ZSC. Here, the area's former use as a quarry meets several designated categories of protected areas.

Parco dei Laghetti can be accessed via Via Fornace in Martellago and Via Cà Bembo in Maerne. For orientation, these are two specific streets in two named locations. Which one suits your plans depends on where you want to reach the park from.

There is a clear rule for motor vehicles in the park: access, transit and parking are prohibited on roads and paths, meadows, woodland and agricultural land, as well as alongside paths. Take this restriction into account when planning your visit. The designated protected status and the rules for vehicles are different aspects of the area: one classifies the land, while the others govern its use on site.

Churches and historic buildings

The Chiesa di Santo Stefano Protomartire dates from the period between 1770 and 1820. A precise date is known for its consecration: the church was consecrated by Bishop Francesco Giustiniani on 21 September 1777. Two years later, the authorities commissioned painters Giovanni Battista Canal and Domenico Fossati to create a large fresco depicting the martyrdom of Saint Stephen. The consecration and the fresco commission are therefore two distinct events within the broader dating.

Barchessa Fapanni Combi also brings together several historical periods. The residence in the Veneto was built in 1600 and restored in the 19th century to a design by architect Michele Fapanni. If you would like to visit this historic residence, an appointment can be arranged in advance, subject to availability. Plan your visit by making this inquiry rather than assuming you can enter without prior notice.

Villa Priuli Grimani Morosini, also known as Ca' della Nave, is on Via Castellana in the centre of Martellago. Its main building dates from 1547. The years 1547 and 1600 refer to different buildings: Villa Priuli Grimani Morosini and Barchessa Fapanni Combi, respectively. Together, these buildings offer two distinct points of reference for the region's historic architecture.

Railway station, golf and regional produce

The railway station is in Maerne di Martellago, at Via Circonvallazione 64. If rail travel is relevant to your trip, check current train services separately.

The golf course at Golf Club Ca' della Nave has artificial lakes affecting twelve of its 18 holes. This figure is precise: the lakes affect twelve holes, not the entire course as a whole. Another regional connection is Radicchio rosso di Treviso, a typical horticultural product of the area around Martellago. The golf course and an agricultural product thus complement the area's nature and history themes.

Martellago as a starting point for your hotel search

When comparing specific hotel offers, check each property's address. This will help you make your choice based on your own plans, rather than assuming a hotel's location based on the destination name alone.
