Ca' Savio brings together several distinct travel interests: protected nature, the beach, a coastal cycling route, a market and historic sites. If you are looking for a hotel in Ca' Savio, you can plan your stay around your main interest. For nature excursions, the protected area, meeting point and season are relevant; for the cycling route, the distance, surface and difficulty level are specified. Beach access, the market and Via dei Forti add further activities to the picture. This lets you decide before your trip whether you would like to prioritise nature, cycling, the beach or culture.

Nature and guided excursions

The Dune e boschi di Ca' Savio protected area is one of five protected coastal areas along the Cavallino-Treporti coast and is part of the Natura 2000 coastal network. Guided excursions to the dunes and pine forest start at the Centro Ambientale Turistico (CAT), near the protected area. They are led by an AIGAE-certified environmental guide. The meeting point for guided nature excursions is the car park at the seafront entrance on Via di Ca' Savio, also near the CAT.

Visits to the Centro Ambientale Turistico are available only in summer and by prior reservation. If you plan to visit, book in advance and confirm availability for your travel dates. This lets you take this seasonal condition into account when planning.

Beach and coastal cycling route

At the seafront entrance on Via di Ca' Savio, there is a free beach with facilities, as well as public toilets and showers; parking there is paid. Another option is the Percorso dei Forti: the 18-kilometre route starts at Ca' Savio beach and runs along the coast of the Cavallino-Treporti peninsula. It is very easy and fully paved. Its distance, surface and difficulty level give you practical guidance if you would like to include a bike ride in your stay.

Historic sites and Via dei Forti

The Cavallino ammunition depot is a historic building in Ca' Savio and can be seen along cycling routes. Parts of the original installations have been preserved inside. Conservation work on Batteria Vettor Pisani was completed in 2017. Today, it is the centre of the Via dei Forti trail, houses a museum and serves as a venue for events and study.

For cultural planning, the two places have different focuses: parts of the original installations have been preserved at the ammunition depot, while Batteria Vettor Pisani also serves as a museum, event venue and place of study. Ca' Savio therefore offers both a historic building and a venue with a broader cultural programme.

Farmers' market in Ca' Savio

The Ca' Savio farmers' market is held every Wednesday morning in Piazza Papa Giovanni Paolo II in Ca' Savio. It offers local produce from short supply chains and organic products, including fruit, vegetables, cheese and cured meats. If local food is one of your travel interests, the market adds another activity to the nature, beach and cultural offerings. As the regular schedule may change, check the latest times before your trip.
