Revine Lago can be explored through its culture, landscape and trails. When choosing a hotel, you can start by asking yourself what you would like to focus on during your stay: historic sites and art, the lakes, a seasonal tradition or a hike.

Lakes and the park in the Lago district

The Parco Archeologico Didattico del Livelet is located in the Lago district of Revine Lago. The natural lakes of Santa Maria and San Giorgio are of glacial origin and are fed by springs from the Piave catchment area. Two aspects are important to understanding them: their glacial origin and the springs from the Piave catchment area that supply their water. The lakes’ environmental conditions may change.

Churches, art and history

The Chiesetta di San Marco dates to 1755/1760. The Chiesa di San Matteo was first documented in 1313 and became a parish church in 1537. It also preserves an altarpiece dating to the early 18th century, attributed to the local painter Egidio Dall’Oglio. San Matteo thus brings together documented and ecclesiastical history with a specific work of art.

Castello di Monte Frascon was destroyed in 1282–1283. Castello di Monte Frascon stands on the summit of Monte Frascon at an altitude of 380 metres; the path there follows the old road north of the Santuario di San Francesco di Paola. Unlike the churches, with their dates and altarpiece, the focus here is on the history of its destruction and its topographical setting.

Culture and seasonal traditions

Lago Film Fest is an independent festival of research cinema, founded in 2005 in the lake area of Revine Lago. It adds a more recent festival connection to the area’s historical cultural associations. The Presepe vivente is associated with the Christmas season and the church square of S. Matteo Apostolo di Revine. The event runs from late December to early January; check the dates and programme for the relevant edition. The festival’s founding year is its chronological reference point, while the Christmas season is the reference point for the Presepe vivente.

Hikes from Revine

A route description for a circular hike starting in Revine, published in 2024, takes the Via Crucis to the Santuario di San Francesco; the route then follows Strada de le Musse No. 1032. Another description of the Revine circular hike, also published in 2024, gives Strada dei Cavai No. 1033 for the descent to Malga Col Cavaler; a forest road then continues downhill. The waypoints differ: the first description mentions the Via Crucis and the Santuario, while the second mentions the descent to Malga Col Cavaler. Check trail conditions before setting out.
