Casier is located in the Parco Naturale Regionale del Fiume Sile. Specific travel interests include cycling along the towpath, individually planned river trips and local history.

Sile Park, towpath and cycling

Designated access points to the towpath that are suitable for parking and then continuing by bike include Villapendola di Casier and Casier Porto. If you would like to combine driving and cycling on your trip, these two named access points may be useful when planning.

At Piazza S. Pio X in Casier, SileWay offers electric boat rentals and bicycle transport. These are separate services: you can rent an electric boat or arrange bicycle transport.

Two routes lead to Cimitero dei Burci, but differ in their starting points and descriptions. L’Alzaia da Treviso runs from Treviso along the Sile’s historic towpaths to Cimitero dei Burci. GiraSile leads from Treviso’s city walls to Cimitero dei Burci in Casier and focuses on culture and landscapes. The respective starting point and described character therefore offer concrete reference points for comparing the routes.

Plan your river trips individually

The F.lli Stefanato river trip service offers individually tailored planning: you can choose the day and time of your trip, the departure and arrival points, and the route; night-time trips are also available. As this is not a scheduled service, advance reservations are required. Unlike the routes to Cimitero dei Burci, here you can decide on several key aspects of your trip yourself. Take the reservation requirement into account when planning, and consider what timing and itinerary will suit your trip.

Church history and a water-powered clock

The Chiesa dei Santi Teonisto e Compagni Martiri was built in 1753 over the remains of a chapel belonging to the monastery of Santi Pietro e Teonisto. The small monastery was already in Casier in the early years of the 9th century, not far from the Sile, and was dependent on the Benedictine monastery of S. Zeno di Verona. The church thus offers a glimpse into the area’s longer history: its construction is connected to an older monastic chapel and a monastic past dating back to the Early Middle Ages.

The Idrocronometro di Casier adds a technical dimension to this historical focus. The water-powered clock tells the time using a mechanism that uses water as its energy source. For travellers interested in technical workings as well as architecture, the connection between water and timekeeping offers a distinct point of interest. The Sile represents the natural environment, while the clock represents the technical use of water.
