If you are planning a stay in Cerbara, you can build your itinerary around specific places and events: the Chiesa della Trasfigurazione di Cristo, the Ciliegia Tour and dated events. If you are looking for a hotel, it helps to first decide what you want to focus on during your trip: sacred architecture, cycling or a particular event each lead to different daily itineraries. For events, the years and programme periods matter; a past date does not indicate that an event will be repeated.

Church and Architecture

The Chiesa della Trasfigurazione di Cristo is a subsidiary church of the Parish of San Biagio and was consecrated on 7 October 1995. Its central plan arranges the building around a central space; its inspiration is the biblical concept of the tent on Mount Tabor. The church can therefore be understood from two perspectives: its spatial design and its explicitly stated religious reference. Those interested in sacred architecture have a specific focus for their stay in Cerbara, while keeping the significance of its form connected to its ecclesiastical affiliation.

Historic Villas

Two villas also offer a specific way to explore Cerbara’s cultural heritage. Villa Palazzeschi is part of Umbria’s regional network of historic villas, parks and gardens. Villa Bice Zampini is listed in Cerbara with the date 05.08.1998. These represent different kinds of connections: Palazzeschi’s inclusion in a regional network, and a dated listing for Bice Zampini. Those including culture and architecture in their trip can consider the two villas as points of interest in their own right, alongside the church.

Arriving by Train

Cerbara railway station is a convenient reference point when planning your arrival. On 14 August 2026, RFI’s live arrivals and departures board showed connections to Sansepolcro and Perugia Ponte S. Giovanni. Check the RFI board again before travelling if you plan to use this connection.

Cycling and the Ciliegia Tour

The Ciliegia Tour brings together cycling, culture and gastronomy, and is organised annually. It starts at the Pro Loco Cerbara headquarters; GS Errepielle di Cerbara organises it together with the Pro Loco as part of the traditional village festival “Cerbara in festa”. The route from Cerbara follows the “percorso vita” along the Tiber to the centre of Città di Castello. Dates and arrangements may change. If you are planning your trip around the event, check the date and route conditions in advance.

Seasonal Events

The 2025 and 2025–2026 programmes include specific, dated events. In the summer 2025 programme, a free Cine-Park film screening for children of “The Little Prince” took place at Parco dei cervi in Cerbara. The summer programme listed a reading event, “Letture nei parchi”, organised by LAAV at Parco di Cerbara on 2 July 2025. The 2025–2026 Christmas programme included “Segui la Stella” in Cerbara, in the Pro Loco area, organised by all the associations. The film screening, reading and Christmas event differ in format and season. If a particular event is a key factor in your stay, check the dates for your travel period.
