When looking for a hotel in Pera, the themes of your stay can provide a starting point for comparison: churches and milling history, a hike towards Monzon, or nearby snow sports each offer a different focus. The churches and the start of the hiking trail are directly associated with Pera; other leisure activities are in Fraine or near Ciampedie. This lets you sort the village’s history, routes and leisure interests according to what matters for your stay.

Churches and milling history

The Chiesa di san Lorenzo in Pera was built around 1610 in Late Gothic forms. Its interior contains numerous frescoes by F. Bernard; the main altar depicts Saint Lawrence, the patron saint of Pera. A more recent church in Pera is the Chiesa di Santa Maria Madre della Chiesa. It was designed by architect G. Marchegiani and engineer P. Mayr; the first service was held there at Christmas 1975. The dates refer to different events: for San Lorenzo, the stated date is its construction around 1610; for Santa Maria, it is the first service at Christmas 1975.

The L Molin de Pèzol mill adds another aspect: it has belonged to the Rizzi (Salin) family from Pera since 1800; it is well preserved and still operating. While the churches are notable for their architectural style, furnishings and history of services, the mill combines a long-standing family connection with continued operation.

Hiking trail towards Monzon

The Pera–Monzon–La Regolina hiking trail starts in Pera on Strada de Ciadenac and follows the Stations of the Cross towards Monzon. This gives you a clear starting point and direction for planning: the trailhead is on the named road, and the route continues along the Stations of the Cross in the direction of Monzon. This makes it possible to distinguish the hike from the churches and their history, which are tied to the village.

Snow sports and leisure activities nearby

In the village of Fraine-Pera di Fassa, there is a practice area with numerous games, as well as a cross-country ski trail that is also lit in the evenings. The Katapult! snow sports area is also located nearby, in Fraine. It is fenced and has a conveyor belt for the ascent. The facilities differ in their features: games at the practice area, evening lighting on the ski trail and a conveyor belt for the ascent at Katapult!. The practice area’s facilities and program, as well as the infrastructure at Katapult!, may change; ski trail operations may vary by season. Check the latest information for the dates you are planning to visit.

The Fly Line Catinaccio is a 1,100-metre-long ride through the forest near Ciampedie, with a vertical drop of 190 metres. A self-braking carriage, a safety harness and a single seat allow for a controlled ride. From Pera, the Fly Line can be reached by the Vajolet 1, Vajolet 2 and Pian Pecei chairlifts. The length and vertical drop describe the ride; the connection to Pera refers instead to access by lift. As lift operations and routes may vary by season, check them for the dates you are planning to visit.

Free parking for the Piciocaa Adventure Park is available in the area at the base station of the Vajolet chairlift in Pera. If you plan to use this parking area when travelling to the park, check the latest conditions in advance.

A look at cheese-making

The neighbouring Mèlga de Fascia dairy processes milk every day from around thirty barns between Soraga and Canazei. The modern production process can be viewed through large windows. This adds another point of interest for travellers interested in local food production as well as churches and leisure activities.
