Accommodation in Buscate
Buscate can be viewed through several travel interests: its inclusion in Ticino Park, the architecture of the Church of San Mauro Abate, and the history of Villa Rosales, Abbiati. There are also events with different time frames. When choosing a hotel in Buscate, these points of interest can help you assess the destination in light of your plans: Is your trip mainly about the park, architectural history, or a particular event date?
Buscate and Ticino Park
Buscate was included in Ticino Park by a law unanimously passed by the Regional Council on February 27, 2002. The park can be visited on foot, by bicycle, by canoe, and on horseback. For your planning, it is useful to distinguish Buscate as a destination from Ticino Park as a larger area to visit. If a particular activity shapes your trip, plan around the park area.
Architecture of the Church of San Mauro Abate
The present building of the Church of San Mauro Abate was constructed in 1954 after the modern church was demolished. It features a rationalist style with neo-Romanesque influences. Its three-aisled layout, in the forms of rationalist architecture, draws on the basilica form of early Christian cathedrals and mature Romanesque architecture. Thus, the church brings together the construction date of the present building and older architectural references: the former dates its construction, while the latter explain its design.
The layout also includes specific features: beneath the presbytery is a crypt with an oratory. Two staircases built to either side of the altar lead down to it. The location of the crypt and the three-aisled layout therefore supplement the information about the style with a description of the building’s structure.
The history of Villa Rosales, Abbiati
Villa Rosales, Abbiati offers a different historical perspective. From 1722, it was owned by the Marquises Rosales and was then described as a noble residence. A protection order dated September 25, 1974, protected the villa, its garden, and its attached farm buildings; the protection extends to the entire estate. The two dates have different roles: 1722 relates to the history of ownership and designation, while 1974 relates to the protection status and its scope. This makes it possible to distinguish the estate’s historical context from its later protected status.
Events and dates
Bicipace is an annual cycling tour and an ecological, solidarity-driven initiative organized by several volunteer organizations. It promotes cycling as an alternative to conventional cars. Hundreds of people from the provinces of Milan, Varese, and Novara take part. The 2026 edition was scheduled for Sunday, May 17. If a future edition is a deciding factor for your trip, check its date separately.
Run Together – Cour Buscà took place for the fifth time in 2026 and started at Piazza S. Mauro. The timing details differ: for Bicipace, the annual organization is part of the event’s nature; for Run Together, the fifth edition in 2026 is a specific historical reference. If you are planning your trip around an event, check the dates of the relevant edition before booking your hotel.
