Trescore Balneario combines a thermal center with several examples of architectural history and sacred art. When choosing a hotel, it may help to decide in advance what you want to focus on during your stay: thermal treatments, historic architecture, or frescoes and churches. Each place has its own character—from Palazzo delle Stanze to Oratorio Suardi.

Thermal Center and Park

The thermal center in Trescore has departments for inhalation treatments, balneo mud therapy, motor rehabilitation, and thermal phlebology. You can request a reservation at the thermal center by calling 035 4255511 or using a form on its website. The thermal complex is located in the center of an extensive park.

Palazzo, Tower, and Villa

Traces of the walls of an old medieval castle have been preserved in Palazzo delle Stanze. The palazzo has been a national monument since 1932. The surviving sections of wall point to the building’s medieval history, while its monument designation provides a separate, later historical reference.

Torre Suardi dates back to the 13th century and was restored to its original height in the 18th century. Villa Terzi al Canton was designed by the architect Filippo Alessandri and is considered one of the most complete examples of 18th-century architecture in the province of Bergamo. Thus, Trescore brings together a medieval tower, an 18th-century villa, and a palazzo with traces of an old castle as distinct architectural points of reference.

Churches and Their Historical Connections

Chiesa di San Bartolomeo has been documented since 1413, when a chaplaincy was founded there. Some of its original 15th-century frescoes have been preserved. It also has a 17th-century altarpiece inspired by a well-known print depicting the martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew by José de Ribera, known as lo Spagnoletto. Early documentary evidence, frescoes, and the later altarpiece give the church distinct historical and artistic connections.

Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista was restored in the 1960s. Its interior was frescoed in the 18th century by the same artist who decorated the interior of the nearby Villa dei Marchesi Terzi. Chiesa di San Cassiano has a different focus: it is considered the parish church of one of Trescore’s earliest inhabited settlements and stands at the intersection of a road built by the Romans that connected Valle dei Camuni with Brescia and Bergamo. Chiesa di Sant'Antonio Abate has been documented since 1541.

Frescoes and Planning Your Visit

Cappella di Villa Suardi contains frescoes depicting stories of Saint Barbara and Saint Brigid of Ireland. In Oratorio Suardi, a large fresco by Lotto covers the entire left wall of the small oratory. The 2026 visiting season includes guided tours of Lotto’s frescoes from March 1 to November 30. Check the dates before your trip.

Outdoor Activities

Parco Le Stanze is an equipped municipal park where adults and children can enjoy a range of outdoor activities. It complements the town’s cultural and historical attractions with an opportunity to focus your stay on outdoor pursuits as well.
