Discover Lallio
Accommodation in Lallio
Lallio can be explored from several different perspectives. Parco dei Gelsi brings sports, play areas, and ponds into your visit to the town; churches and chapels bring historical themes to life; and the Settembrine festival connects religious origins with community life. When planning your stay, you can therefore decide whether to focus on local history, local traditions, or the park. The places and themes below each offer a different starting point.
Parco dei Gelsi: Sports, Play, and Ponds
You can play sports at Parco dei Gelsi. The park also has equipped areas where children can play. Its ponds are home to fish, turtles, and other aquatic animals. This brings together a variety of interests in the same park: sporting activity, play, and the wildlife in the ponds. If you are traveling with children, the play areas offer a tangible focal point; for anyone interested in aquatic life, the ponds add another dimension to the park's character. The different areas give you several possible ways to focus your visit, depending on your interests.
Churches and Places of Remembrance
The Chiesa di San Bernardino in Lallio was built in 1450—the same year Bernardino was canonized. In 1912, it was declared a national monument because of its historical and artistic significance. The year it was built and its monument status mark two different points in time: the former refers to when the church was built, while the latter reflects its subsequent recognition.
The Cappella dei Mortini has a different focus. After the former parish church was demolished in 1660, the chapel was built on its ruins to commemorate the people buried beneath the church. The two buildings thus represent different forms of remembrance: the history of a church building and the commemoration of people whose burial place was connected with the former parish church.
Settembrine Festival in September
The Settembrine festival takes place in Lallio in September and originated around the 1960s. From a purely religious festival, it developed into a community event for the entire religious and civic community. The tradition includes the active participation of local residents and communal entertainment. Its development thus connects its religious origins with its present-day character as an occasion for the whole community.

Tour di Lallio: History in Three Stops
The ninth edition, Tour di Lallio 9.0, was organized as a theatrical walk with three stops devoted to local history and the community's heritage. It was scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026. The starting point was to be the Chiesetta di San Bernardino, Via Arciprete Rota 4. If you are interested in a later edition, check its date and starting point.
The format brings local history and the community's heritage together at several stops. This sets it apart from focusing on a single building: alongside historic sites, the community's experiences are also at the center. The tour therefore offers another way to explore Lallio's past, while the churches and chapels each have their own architectural and commemorative significance.
