Vidiciatico lies between the Silla and Dardagna streams, at the foot of Monte Pizzo. The village is surrounded by chestnut, pine, fir and beech forests. Trails, churches, events and a seasonal swimming pool offer different starting points for planning your trip: you can focus on scenery and outdoor activities, local history or leisure facilities.

Scenery, Trails and Excursions

Near the town center, signs point to Ca’ Gabrielli, where CAI Trail 129 begins. If you plan to take this trail, check the trail conditions and signage on site. A route to Monte Pizzo runs from the meadows of Budiara along a trail to the village of Vidiciatico. The Budiara–Monte Pizzo loop above Vidiciatico can be ridden by mountain bike or e-bike. The details highlight different aspects for planning: the CAI trail is identified by its signposts and starting point at Ca’ Gabrielli, while the loop is described as suitable for mountain bikes or e-bikes.

Vidiciatico is also a starting point for ski slopes and excursions in the Upper Apennines. If you are planning a specific ski run or excursion, check the relevant conditions. This lets you consider the trail and route options according to your planned activity, without treating hiking trails, cycling loops and winter sports as the same thing.

Swimming Pool with Views of the Silla Valley

The municipal Conca del Sole swimming pool is surrounded by greenery and offers views of the Silla Valley and the surrounding mountains. The facility includes a 30-meter water slide, whirlpool pools, hydrobikes and a baby park. It operates seasonally; facilities and offerings may change. So check current opening times and which services are available before your visit.

Churches, Cinema and Local Festivals

The Oratorio di San Rocco has a portico supported by columns made of local sandstone and a bell gable. The oratory also contains a recently uncovered fresco: it depicts a standing male figure in a niche and probably dates from the building’s construction in 1631. The Festa del Voto, associated with San Rocco, takes place every year on August 1. If you would like to plan your trip around it, check that year’s program.

The new Church of San Pietro in Vidiciatico was consecrated on June 29, 1884. Cinema Teatro La Pergola offers a different kind of cultural experience: its program includes first-run and second-run films, classics, independent films, documentaries and auteur animation, as well as small theater productions and concerts, meetings, presentations and conferences. Its varied program combines cinema with stage performances and events.

The Festa del Borgo is also part of the local festival tradition and has been held for more than 20 years. For 2026, the menu includes, among other things, chestnut-flour ciacci, tigelle with cold cuts and polenta with wild boar. The food on offer may vary from year to year. Along with the Festa del Voto, the festival is another reason to check event dates when planning your trip.
