Leányvár offers different points of interest for planning a trip: the parish church and the Calvary sculpture group give the village a cultural and historical dimension, while a viewpoint opens up a view towards Piliscsév. This allows you to decide whether you are more interested in local churches and monuments or in a landscape perspective.

Church, Calvary and Viewpoint

The Árpád-házi-Szent-Erzsébet Parish Church in Leányvár is a Neoclassical church and a protected monument, built in 1806. Its style and construction year offer two distinct points of reference: the style places the church in an architectural context, while 1806 identifies its year of construction. The parish church is therefore a specific point of interest for travellers who are also interested in architecture when choosing a destination. Neoclassicism draws on forms from ancient architecture.

The Calvary sculpture group is dated to 1783. It is located along a path on the hill above the gardens on Kálvária Street. A small chapel is also situated along a path on the hill above the gardens on the same street. The chronology compared with the parish church is clear: the sculpture group is dated 23 years earlier than the church’s construction. The two dates refer to different landmarks: 1783 to the group, and 1806 to the construction of the church.

The viewpoint at the upper end of Panoráma Road offers a different perspective. From there, the view opens up 180° towards Piliscsév. Here, the focus is on the landscape, not a construction date or architectural style. This gives Leányvár several distinct local points of interest: religious buildings with specific historical dates and a broad view towards Piliscsév.
