Poroszló is a destination on Lake Tisza whose highlights include cycling connections, beach and boating experiences, and local culture. If you’re looking for a hotel for a stay here, you can first consider which of these areas will shape your trip: a cycling route, time by the water, or sights in town. These differences can help you decide whether Poroszló fits your travel plans.

Cycling between Poroszló and Tiszafüred

A cycling path separated from road traffic, about 6.5 kilometres long, leads from the dike on the Poroszló side of Lake Tisza to the existing cycle network in the town of Tiszafüred. Since 2020, it has been possible to cycle around Lake Tisza thanks to the renewed connecting section between Tiszafüred and Poroszló and the bicycle bridge. For planning purposes, these are two different distances to consider: the approximately 6.5-kilometre path and the route around the lake.

Beach and boat tours

At Tisza-tavi Strand Poroszló, pedal boats, kayaks, canoes and bicycles are available for hire; the beach is directly accessible from Main Road 33. Rental availability may vary by season. If your plans depend on a particular rental option, check its availability for your travel dates.

Another option is the GPS-guided boat tours offered by the Tisza-tavi Ökocentrum. They pass through reed beds and winding waterways; the twelve routes vary in length and duration, and their number may change. The tours therefore differ in both distance and time required. They can be booked independently and without an admission ticket to the Ökocentrum. The seasonal operating period runs from early April through October. Established in 2012, the Tisza-tavi Ökocentrum houses a freshwater aquarium system described as the largest in Europe.

Culture in Poroszló

The Poroszlói Tájház showcases traditional folk crafts and insights into rural life in an original thatched farmhouse. The Reformed Church and the Catholic Church are also among Poroszló’s sights. These attractions offer a different focus from the beach and cycling path.
