Trockenborn-Wolfersdorf offers plenty to explore during a stay combining hiking, cultural history, and distinctive local landmarks. Highlights include Vier-Schwestern-Platz in Wolfersdorf, the Ducal Burial Site, and Ochsenborn in Trockenborn.

Cultural History and Memorial Sites

At Vier-Schwestern-Platz in Wolfersdorf, the heart of Duke Joseph lies in a silver casket beneath a stone cross; his daughters planted the four oak trees in 1860. The site combines a local memorial tradition with a precisely dated planting. From the center of Wolfersdorf, a small hiking trail leads over a little bridge and up the hill directly to Vier-Schwestern-Platz on the main road.

The Ducal Burial Site in Trockenborn-Wolfersdorf is another historical landmark. Berlin garden architect Georg Belá Pniower (1896–1960) designed the site, which was completed in the spring of 1936. Only minor changes were made to the site afterward. The four oaks date back to 1860, while the burial site was completed in 1936, providing two distinct points of reference in the area's history.

Ochsenborn is the oldest enclosed spring in Trockenborn-Wolfersdorf. It lies on the outskirts of Trockenborn, on the left side of the road toward Hummelshain, shortly before the turnoff to Seitenbrück. This precise location makes it a destination in its own right for exploring the local landscape, distinct from the memorial sites associated with ducal history.

The area also has a legacy of technology: the rare hydraulic ram in Wolfersdorf was restored in 2004 by local technology enthusiasts and opened to visitors at the time. Alongside the memorial sites, it shows that local history is not limited to ducal heritage.

Hiking and Leisure

Opened in 2013, the Tälerpilgerweg pilgrimage trail around Trockenborn-Wolfersdorf offers a chance to experience nature and cultural history. In addition, a well-signposted and marked network of hiking trails spanning around 100 kilometers invites visitors to enjoy hikes of all lengths. You can choose according to your preference: a named route or trails from a larger network.

Other sporting activities include various cycling routes, running trails, and bridleways, as well as mini golf. The range therefore includes different ways to stay active, not just hiking.
