When searching for hotels in Schlei-Ostsee, it helps to decide in advance what you want to focus on during your stay. Damp offers a variety of options: the harbor and beach, water sports, trails through protected natural areas, and leisure and cultural activities. This lets you tailor your choice to what interests you most during your time there.

Harbor, Beach and Water Sports in Damp

Damp harbor has a promenade, guest berths and modern sanitary facilities. There is also a snack bar, ice cream and a supermarket. The marina can accommodate up to 365 boats across 14 piers. The promenade, berths, sanitary facilities, and food and shopping options make the harbor a destination in its own right, alongside the beach and water sports.

Damp's main beach has a range of beach facilities, as well as sections for dogs and naturism. Stand-up paddleboard rentals are available in the summer months; surfing, sailing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding and water skiing are also possible. If water sports are a particular priority when choosing where to stay, you can consider this range of activities as a focus in its own right. For stand-up paddleboarding, be sure to factor the seasonal availability of rentals into your plans.

Damp's Action Beach and South Beach are about four kilometers long. Action Beach has an accessible beach entrance. If this entrance is important to your plans, check the conditions before you travel; the length given is approximate.

Nature and Coastal Trails

The coastal trail passes through the Schwansener See nature reserve, which is part of the Natura 2000 network of protected areas. Its protected status gives the trail a clear connection to the landscape around the lake. A hiking trail runs right along the coast between OstseeResort Damp in the south and OstseeResort Olpenitz in the north. The features of these trails offer different points of reference: the protected lakeside landscape and the coastline between two named resorts.

Leisure Activities and Culture

Damp's Viking golf course is right on the beach promenade on the Schwansen peninsula and has 18 holes. This makes it a standalone leisure activity alongside the beach and water-based offerings. Damp's Entdeckerbad has a large outdoor pool with views of the Baltic Sea. It is also home to Germany's first Viking-style sauna. If the outdoor pool is an important part of your plans, check the latest details before visiting, as pool features can change over time.

Damp's Funhalla indoor play center covers more than 3,500 m². As an indoor attraction, it differs in nature from the harbor, beach and outdoor trails. Gut Damp, built in the Renaissance style in 1595, offers another link to the area's history. You can weigh up different themes when making your choice: leisure activities, a historic estate, or nature and the coast.

A Special Spot on South Beach

Damp's South Beach net hammock serves both as a hammock and a lookout point, offering a place to rest during an active vacation. It is the only one anchored directly in the beach sand. If you plan to visit specifically for it, we recommend checking its condition before your visit.
