The Annaberg Mining Altar is housed in St. Anne’s Church. Its imagery depicts mining in the Annaberg district at the beginning of the 16th century. The Adam Ries Museum is the only memorial to Adam Ries housed in a former home that he lived in. At the museum, visitors can earn a certificate in arithmetic using his methods. The Adam Ries House is also part of the Annaberg-Frohnau mining landscape, which belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region.

It teaches historical arithmetic methods from the time of Adam Ries; visits are possible by prior arrangement. Experience mining and explore Pöhlberg

In Annaberg-Buchholz, you can visit three show mines and experience the town’s silver mining underground. Check access and opening times in advance. In the Frohnau district, you can explore historic mine tunnels, see traditional equipment in operation and discover the mining-shaped landscape on foot. Access to individual facilities may vary. Frohnauer Hammer preserves original hammer mill technology as a cultural monument to ore processing.

For a hike, try the mining educational trail on Pöhlberg: the 6.31-kilometre loop is rated moderate and offers panoramic views. It runs through the Pöhlberg mining landscape, passes the Pöhlbergalm natural monument and offers views of the Ore Mountain ridge. Check for possible trail closures before setting out.

As an interactive museum, Manufaktur der Träume displays more than 1,000 works of art spanning four centuries of art from the Ore Mountains. The exhibition explicitly invites visitors to take part.
