Seibersbach lies at the foot of the Soonwald and is more than 65 percent forested. Forest walks are another way to experience the landscape. Historic buildings also shape the village: the Protestant church preserves medieval and early modern details, while the Catholic church and Karlsburg mark other points in the village’s history. When planning accommodation, the specific capacities at Martinshütte and at two campsites are also relevant.

MartinshĂĽtte and Campsites

MartinshĂĽtte offers overnight accommodation for 22 people and sanitary facilities. Two campsites can accommodate up to 150 people combined. From Seibersbach, MartinshĂĽtte can be reached via an approximately 800-metre gravel forest road. Forestry or weather-related work may change access conditions, so check the route before your visit.

Churches and Historic Buildings

Local historians date the construction of the Protestant church to around 1450; its first mention, in 1516, identifies it as St. Anne’s Chapel. The choir vault features the coat of arms of the Wolfen von Sponheim. Small stained-glass windows from the first half of the 16th century have been preserved in the church. The foundation stone of the Catholic church was laid on 4 August 1892. Seibersbach’s swimming pool was built through community effort in 1939.

Karlsburg stands within the municipal area of Seibersbach. Carl III Puricelli built it in 1849. The ground floor is accessible at ground level and offers panoramic views through several windows. Check access before your visit.

Kloster Atzweiler is classified as a Roman settlement site. The original structure is described as a 16-by-16-metre tower; the site is also said to have been the soldiers’ last resting place before Simmern.

Bad Kreuznach: More Regional Destinations

In Bad Kreuznach itself, the bridge houses were built from 1480 onwards due to a lack of space. They stand on pillars of the old Nahe Bridge, built around 1300. Since 1985/86, the museums of the city of Bad Kreuznach have been housed in the listed former Bangert manor, which is located in a historic park. The Salinental between Bad Kreuznach and Bad MĂĽnster is a unique cultural landscape rich in history.

The Felseneremitage in Bretzenheim is a place of worship carved entirely into the rock, probably created in prehistoric times and repurposed in early Christian times. It can be visited from the outside year-round and without a guide; access to the dwelling carved into the rock is currently not possible due to falling-rock hazards. In Bad Sobernheim, the summer barefoot trail offers a variety of surfaces over 3.5 kilometres, as well as a clay-treading pool and an obstacle course; the route leads to the Nahe.

For the wider destination of Bad Kreuznach, the tourist information offices of the municipalities and towns in the district, as well as Naheland Touristik in Kirn, provide information on stays, accommodation and bookings, leisure, wellness, wine and cuisine in the Naheland.
