Petersfeld and the Thülsfeld Reservoir

The Thülsfeld Reservoir Nature Trail is a ten-kilometre circular route through moorland and heath, over dunes and past winding bays. The trail also includes 14 interactive stations. The route length and number of stations provide two different points of reference for planning: the ten kilometres indicate the length of the circular route, while the stations add an interactive element. The locations given for the nature trail are 26169 Friesoythe-Thülsfeld and 49681 Garrel-Petersfeld. The trail differs in format from the information walkway: it takes you on a circular route through different landscape types, while the walkway brings together views and information in one place.

Information walkway and bathing area

The Thülsfeld Reservoir information walkway is in the south, between the large and small bathing beaches, and offers views across the reservoir. Four information panels cover the reservoir’s history, functions and uses, as well as distinctive features of the natural environment. They complement the views with information about the body of water and its surroundings. The southern bathing area near Garrel-Petersfeld has approximately 3,200 m² of bathing space. This gives you different options when planning an outing: views and information from the walkway, or bathing space at the southern bathing area.

Adventure playground

The “Reservistenfort” adventure playground in Petersfeld has a climbing pyramid, bridges and climbing frames, as well as a carousel, an adventure swing and a dual zip line. The play equipment combines climbing and bridge elements with a carousel, swing and zip line. There is ample parking at the playground.
