Eschede offers several specific options to help you plan your trip: a horseback riding route, a path through the memorial site, the Nature Park Information Centre at the railway station, and a doll collection. These attractions offer a range of experiences—from a longer route to a visit by appointment only.

Things to Do and Visitor Information in Eschede

Horseback Riding Route 04 Eschede is approximately 35 km long. It runs from Eschede through Rebberlah, Burghorn and Habighorst, and back to Eschede. The approximate route length gives you an idea of how extensive the ride is. Check the official route page for the latest route details before setting out.

A path runs through the Eschede memorial site. In the cherry orchard, it follows the trees and runs parallel to the railway tracks; it then continues north towards Eschede railway station. You can follow the route by using the trees in the cherry orchard, the railway tracks and the continuation towards the station as landmarks.

The Nature Park Information Centre is located at Eschede railway station. There you can see an oversized replica of a freshwater pearl mussel. Visitors can sit inside its shells and watch a film about the biology, ecology and cultural history of this rare mussel species. The centre combines a vivid depiction of the mussel with the themes covered in the film.

Markmann's Toy Rooms in Eschede house around 700 dolls. The collection ranges from miniature dolls for dollhouses to representations of toddlers, and thus covers a wide variety of sizes and depictions. Public visits are currently possible by prior appointment only.
