Bömighausen offers options for a stay with opportunities for swimming and hiking: swimming is possible in Kleinsee, and there is also a campsite right by the water in the village. Three described routes complement these waterside attractions with a range of distances and landscape impressions. When planning, you can choose between the shorter B1, the longer B2 and route B3, which has a former railway station as its destination.

Comparing the hiking trails

B1 is an easy, 3.10-kilometre circular trail on the Uplandsteig. A detour leads to Kleinsee, and a shelter offers a place to rest. At 3.10 kilometres, B1 is considerably shorter than the 7.37-kilometre B2. The easy rating applies to B1.

The Willingen-Bömighausen circular trail (B2) leads to Grotenberg and runs partly along the Uplandsteig. Features of this 7.37-kilometre route include a panoramic view, an idyllic side valley of the Neerdarbach and a Kneipp facility. It offers an opportunity for a refreshing and healthful break. B2 starts and ends at the Bömighausen hiking car park by the community centre.

B3 climbs uphill to a former railway station. On the way back, it passes through the varied landscape of a meadow valley before returning to Bömighausen. Its described route, with a climb and a return through the valley, therefore differs from the B1 and B2 circular trails.

Getting here and finding your way

Bömighausen can be reached by bus or an on-call shared taxi (AST) from Willingen railway station. Possible stops are Dorfstraße or Auf dem Burlande. Check which connection and stop are suitable for your travel date. If you plan to hike B2, the hiking car park by the community centre is the starting and ending point of the loop.
