Get to know Eichwalde through several distinctive landmarks: the Neo-Gothic Protestant church with its organ, the Old Fire Station as a cultural meeting place, and the natural bathing area on Lake Zeuthen. A tour from Eichwalde to Zeuthen starts at Eichwalde station; there is also a direct S-Bahn connection towards Berlin and Königs Wusterhausen. Church architecture, events and time outdoors offer different ways to shape your stay.

Church and Parabrahm Organ

Eichwalde Protestant Church was built in 1908 to designs by Carl Zaar and Rudolf Vahl in the Neo-Gothic style. Red regional brick, pointed-arch windows and light-coloured plaster meet on the façade. The tower is considered the highest point in the town, is visible from far away and defines Eichwalde’s silhouette. The interior also has a clear architectural layout: it is divided into three naves and features arcades and galleries.

A special feature of the church is the Parabrahm organ. It was restored in 2002 and can be heard at concerts for visitors. The organ is considered the only surviving instrument of its type anywhere in the world. Here, you can experience both the history of the building and an instrument whose significance extends beyond Eichwalde.

Eichwalde–Zeuthen Tour

The tour starts at Eichwalde station and initially follows August-Bebel-Allee, passing the church. After crossing the railway barrier, it is about 100 metres to the Hirtenfließ stream. The route therefore connects several named landmarks, but no precise walking time is given.

For practical directions, it is important to note that this is not an official hiking trail and there are no markers along the route. This information about the tour is current as of 15 July 2025. So familiarise yourself with the described route in advance if you plan to include it in your itinerary.

Culture at the Old Fire Station

Since opening in October 1996, the Old Fire Station in Eichwalde has developed into a cultural meeting place. The venue hosts exhibitions, concerts and readings. This gives you various ways to discover Eichwalde through art, music or literature, rather than centring your stay on just one building. If you plan to attend a concert or reading, check the event dates before your trip.
