The adventure trail along the Weißach, Tegernsee Phantastisch, Weißachau and the cinemas at Lake Tegernsee add different dimensions to a stay in Weißach. If you are looking for a hotel in Weißach, you can consider whether you would like to focus your plans mainly on trails and nature, indoor activities or a film programme. The wider destination of Kreuth adds its own nature and culture themes to the picture.

Adventure Trail and Landscape

The adventure trail along the Weißach runs on both sides of the river and features more than 20 interactive play stations. Most of the stations are on the eastern Weißach embankment path between the centre of Kreuth at Riedlerbrücke and Wallbergbrücke on the access road to the Wallbergbahn. The one-way route is 3.8 km long. Take this distance into account in your planning as a one-way distance.

The Weißachau landscape conservation area encompasses extensive, species-rich nutrient-poor grasslands, divided by small streams, wet meadows and forests. Weißachau has been a landscape conservation area since 1953. These landscape features offer a different focus from the adventure trail’s play stations: here, the different elements of the natural environment take centre stage.

Indoor Activities and Cinema

Tegernsee Phantastisch is a 2,700-square-metre indoor attraction in Weißach. The adventure centre includes a high ropes course, an interactive trampoline arena, the Weissach Warrior course, a 5D cinema and a virtual reality room. The activities range from climbing and movement stations to cinema and digital experiences. Individual installations may change, so check the current selection before your visit.

Weißach is also home to the cinemas at Lake Tegernsee. They show international film productions and regional arthouse films. If a particular film is important to your plans, it is worth checking the current programme.

Kreuth as a Wider Destination

The wider destination of Kreuth covers 123 km², stretching from Lake Tegernsee to the Tyrolean border. The Blauberg range forms the boundary there; its highest peak is Halserspitz, at 1,862 m.

In Kreuth, the Naturschauspiel Kreuth is an adventure trail for children along the Weißach. It introduces visitors to the Weißach floodplains and the small and large hidden features found there. The adventure trail along the Weißach in Kreuth also has a water playground and a climbing course. Visitors can guess bird calls and animal tracks, as well as discover scents and aromas.

The annual calendar also offers a specific point of interest: the Kreuth Leonhardi Ride takes place every year on 6 November. The history of Wildbad Kreuth includes its spring, which has been known since at least the 15th century. Bathing operations there ceased in 1973.

For winter, Kreuth has the Klamm-Bayerwald-Glashütte cross-country ski trail. It leads through snow-covered forests and small valleys towards Glashütte; its availability depends on snow conditions. The Kreuth Tourist Information Office provides information about hiking and cycling in its hiking information area. Visitor service details can change, so check them in advance if you need them for your plans.
