St. Trudpert and local history
Together with the monastery, the Baroque parish church of St. Trudpert is the fourth sacred building on this site and dates back to a foundation in the 9th century. In 1192, Pope Celestine III elevated St. Trudpert to a place of pilgrimage. The term “Baroque” classifies the parish church in terms of art history. This is distinct from the two historical facts: its foundation in the 9th century and the later elevation of St. Trudpert to a place of pilgrimage in 1192.
The Münstertal Museum covers the history of mining, forestry and settlement in Münstertal in the Black Forest. Founded in 1980 as a forest museum, it opened in 2015 in the Münstertal town hall under the name “Münstertal Museum – Museum of Mining, Forestry, Settlement and Local History of Münstertal.”
