Mountain biking, forest trails, panoramic views, and local architectural and cultural history offer different perspectives on Les Adrets-De-L'estérel.

Cycling at Parc de la Source

Parc de la Source has a pump track, a mountain bike skills course, and three mountain bike downhill trails. The facilities cater to different kinds of cycling: practice and skills alongside downhill riding. Details about the facilities may change; if you are planning a specific visit, check the latest information in advance.

Ecole Française de Vélo offers mountain bike lessons for children and young people aged 4 to 18. Age groups and lesson times may change. If lessons are an important part of your travel plans, confirm the relevant age groups and current schedule in advance.

MoovBike rents out electric bikes, delivers them to forest trail starting points, and advises on suitable routes. Rental and delivery arrangements may change. If you are planning to have a bike delivered to a starting point, check the current arrangements in advance.

Forest Trails, Long-Distance Footpath and Landscape

Hikers and mountain bikers use the forest trails in the Massif de l'Estérel near Les Adrets-De-L'estérel. The forest paths therefore appeal both to people who want to explore on foot and to cyclists. For hikes elsewhere in the Var département, the route of the GR®49 is also of interest: it crosses the département from south to north, passing through the Massif de l'Estérel and by Lac de Saint-Cassien, then continuing through the mountain villages of the Pays de Fayence and the Parc naturel régional du Verdon to Rougon. This route extends well beyond a single village, so check trail conditions before setting out.

Les Adrets-De-L'estérel is situated at an elevation and offers panoramic views of the Bay of Cannes, the Îles de Lérins, and the Massif de l'Estérel. These views bring together three different landscape features: the coast, the islands, and the massif. The natural environment has a specific local connection too: the ZNIEFF “Coteaux sud-ouest du lac de Saint-Cassien” includes the commune and features seasonally wet meadows with populations of Azorean adder's-tongue (Ophioglossum azoricum) and Durieu's quillwort (Isoetes duriei). The plants mentioned are not guaranteed to be visible during your visit.

At the end of Parc de la Source lies the source of the Mareret, considered a peaceful place to pause and meditate. This offers a contrast to the more active themes of cycling and hiking: a quiet moment is also part of the experiences described here.

Village History and Local Traditions

Notre Dame des Maures was built in 1648, enlarged in 1772, and renovated in 1995. The oldest houses in the village have a different defining feature: they were built from local red stone. Together, the church's building phases and the material used offer a tangible insight into the village's history, although the two do not belong to the same period.

Local traditions also offer different points of reference in time. The village celebrates its patron saint, Saint-Marc, in April. The traditional stripping of cork oak bark is also still practiced in Les Adrets-De-L'estérel, though on a smaller scale. The April celebration and the continuing, but less extensive, practice describe two different facets of local life. If you want to plan your trip around a specific event date, check the latest schedule in advance.

Market and Getting There

The local market offers fruit and vegetables, prepared foods, fish, cheese, regional products, and Italian products. The selection may change. If specific products are important to your plans, check the latest market information in advance.

Les Adrets-De-L'estérel can be reached via the A8 motorway, Exit 39, and the legendary Route nationale 7. Check traffic conditions before setting off. This lets you plan your journey and stay separately: first choose a suitable route, then consider the activities and local attractions that matter when choosing a hotel.
