Romagne offers several different reasons to visit: a large primate park, the Labyrinthe Végétal, horse activities and historic sites. The annual Fête du Cheval also takes place here every August. If you are looking for a hotel in Romagne, you can plan your stay around one of these specific themes.

Primates and scenery at the Vallée des Singes

La Vallée des Singes is a 22-hectare zoological park for primates in Romagne. It is home to 450 primates living in a natural, semi-free environment. The grounds include shaded paths, streams and cascades. The focus on primates is combined here with a landscape of paths and water features. If you plan to visit the park, check its seasonal opening before setting out.

Labyrinthe Végétal and sensory trail

At the Sentier des Pas Perdus, the Labyrinthe Végétal features four themed mazes: Laby'Bois, Laby'Gazon, Laby'Arbustes and Laby'Maïs, also known as the “Labyrinthe infernal.” The activities also include a sensory trail. You can complete it clothed or barefoot, with your eyes open or closed. Three pedal-kart tracks round out the activities. The themed mazes, a trail with different ways to take part, and pedal-kart tracks offer distinct experiences. Operating conditions may vary by season; check them before your visit.

Horse activities and trail

Au pré discis offers introductory pony rides for children aged two and up, as well as horse and pony rides and treks. These activities are by reservation; confirm your plans before travelling. There is also a walk-through, hour-long board game about horse welfare, suitable for families or friends. It focuses on a shared gaming experience and horse welfare—a different way to engage with horses than rides and treks.

Nature et tradition is a horse-riding route that starts and ends in Romagne. It follows paths once used by local farmers and passes through grain fields. The paths’ former use and the grain fields are among the route’s distinctive features. Check the route conditions before setting out.

Historic sites and the Fête du Cheval

The Église Saint-Laurent is partially protected as a historic monument; the protected areas are the choir, side aisle and north chapel. The Logis de la Millière in Romagne is a site of former seigneurial settlement. The historical points of reference differ: for the church, the limited scope of its protection is important; for the Logis, its former seigneurial use.

The large Fête du Cheval takes place every August. The festival showcases horses, mules, donkeys and Poitou donkeys. If you would like to plan your trip around the festival, check the exact dates before booking.

Practical information

The motorhome parking area in Romagne at the Vallée des Singes has a grassy area, a paved area and shaded spaces. Check availability before travelling. The other attractions also have different timing requirements: the park’s seasonal opening should be taken into account, the maze’s opening may vary seasonally, Au pré discis requires reservations, and the Fête du Cheval takes place in August. When planning your travel dates, base them on the activity that matters most to you.
