Fégréac combines distinctive waterscapes and marshland with hiking opportunities and several cultural venues. If you’re looking for a hotel in Fégréac, you can start by deciding what you want to focus on during your trip: are trails and scenery your priority, are you interested in events, or would you like to enjoy both? The places below show the different experiences Fégréac offers for planning your trip.

Étang Aumée and the hiking landscape

Étang Aumée covers 110 hectares and is surrounded by forests and marshes. The only beach access on Étang Aumée is within Fégréac. It has play facilities for children, picnic tables, a pétanque court and restrooms. This brings together several ways to take a break outdoors: you can include the lakeshore scenery in your day, enjoy a picnic at a table or use the pétanque court. The facilities give you a practical reference point when planning activities around the Étang.

Fégréac’s hiking routes pass through valleys, canals and ponds, bringing together natural and historic landscapes. The Circuit du Bellion passes through the Marais de Fégréac, through woodland and along the shore of Étang Aumée. The route’s seasonal accessibility may vary; take this into account when planning and check whether it will be accessible for your intended visit.

Group hikes and local encounters

Every July, “Les Découvertes du Vendredi” takes place as a series of weekly group hikes of around 4 to 6 km. These include encounters with local craftspeople and livestock farmers, as well as tastings of regional products. The physical activity goes hand in hand with meeting people and discovering local produce. The two hiking options offer different experiences: the Circuit du Bellion is shaped by marshland, woodland and lakeshore, while “Les Découvertes du Vendredi” combines a group hike with encounters and tastings.

Culture at La Carrière and La Forge

La Carrière has a 300-seat theatre where an amateur troupe performs in summer. The programme is seasonal. La Carrière therefore offers a clearly defined cultural experience: summer theatre performances by an amateur troupe.

La Forge is a cultural venue dedicated to dialogue, openness, discovery and diversity, and to raising awareness of heritage, history and memory. Its programme includes art and themed exhibitions, concerts, film and documentary screenings, public readings, theatre, puppet theatre and conferences. La Forge also hosts artist residencies, which usually end with a free performance open to everyone. While La Carrière is associated with summer performances, La Forge offers a range of art and event formats as well as residencies.

Pont-Miny and local heritage

Pont-Miny is a rest stop where cyclists and hikers can enjoy the natural surroundings. Picnic areas are available for outdoor breaks. Pont-Miny also hosts the two-day “Autos Motos Bateaux Rétro” gathering every year, with entertainment and refreshments. Here, enjoying nature and attending an event are two different reasons to visit.

The Gallo-Roman heritage is another feature of the area. Remains found in the Fégréac area include fragments of shaped terracotta figurines, including the “Vénus de Fégréac.” This example adds an archaeological connection to the region’s history to its landscape and cultural attractions.
