Val-De-Saâne offers hiking trails and waterside walks, as well as churches from different periods, a weekly market and a municipal swimming pool. You can consider these options individually when planning your visit: some routes pass through the countryside and former villages, while the market and swimming pool have set opening hours.

Hiking and waterside scenery

Loop trail No. 21 is called “Des sources de la Saâne au Château de La Couture (Château d'Imbleville)”. It is a challenging 15-kilometre hike with a walking time of 3 hours and 45 minutes, marked in yellow. The distance, duration and difficulty give you concrete points of reference if you plan to include this loop in your day.

The “Val de Saâne à pied” route offers another way to explore the area on foot: it includes a walk along the Tortillard, a watercourse beside the Saâne, as well as loop walks through the former villages that came together to form Val-de-Saâne. The GR212® also runs as far as Imbleville. The Saâne itself rises in the Pays de Caux, in the territory of the former commune of Varvannes, now part of the group of villages of Val-de-Saâne. Trout fishing is possible in the river under certain conditions. Check the local regulations for this activity in advance.

Churches with different histories

The Église Saint-Nicaise de Thièdeville dates from the 11th century and was extensively altered in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Église Saint-Wandrille d'Anglesqueville has a different history: during the French Revolution, it was used to produce saltpetre; at the beginning of the 20th century, its façade and bell tower were completely rebuilt. Together, the two churches reveal both a long building history and a past use and later structural changes.

Weekly market and swimming pool

An open-air market is held every Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm in the centre of Val-de-Saâne. It has at least six stalls selling fresh, local produce, including fish, vegetables, fruit, dairy products, honey and charcuterie. If the market fits your stay, plan around its Saturday morning hours; market times may change.
