When planning a trip to Réville, you can choose how much to focus on the beach and coast, culture, or active pursuits. Useful points of reference include the numerous beaches, several buildings with historic protection status, horse-riding and water sports, and the “Terre nourricière” circular trail. If you’re looking for a hotel in Réville, first decide which of these interests you want to shape your stay.

Beaches and water quality

Réville has 7.3 kilometres of coastline with numerous beaches. Swimming is not supervised at the beaches. The water quality is very good and is regularly checked by laboratories approved by the ARS. Before swimming, check the latest local information on water quality, as it can change. Regular water quality testing is not the same as lifeguard supervision; take both points into account when deciding whether to swim.

Horse riding and water sports

The Centre équestre du Val de Saire welcomes visitors year-round for introductory horse-riding sessions and further training in equestrian sports. It offers riding lessons for adults and children at all levels, as well as rides through the countryside and along the beach. Booking arrangements and the availability of individual activities may change. Check in advance which options are suitable for your travel dates.

The Centre Nautique Est Cotentin offers sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, lessons and other water sports for all ages and skill levels. As activities and schedules may change, check the current options in advance.

Circular trail and getting to the starting point

The “Terre nourricière” circular trail is marked in yellow. Its starting point is at the “Réville – Eglise” stop and can be reached by the Cap Cotentin bus network. If you plan to take the bus, check the latest timetable before travelling.

Historic buildings and archaeological connections

The Chapelle Saint-Eloi in Réville has been fully listed as a historic monument since 23 October 1997. The Manoir de Réville has partial protection, covering the façades and roofs of the château and outbuildings, the dovecote, the entrance gate and its pillars, and the wolf pits.

The former redoubt has been partially listed as a historic monument since 6 July 1992. It is protected in its entirety, including its ditches, with the exception of the guardhouse within it. The church in Réville has also been partially classified as a historic monument, since 29 January 1923. Excluded from protection are the modern part of the north aisle next to the choir, the sacristy and the Sacred Heart chapel.

Excavations of a so-called “barbarian” cemetery at Pointe de la Loge in Réville have been linked to the settlement of Saxon tribes along the Cotentin coast. These archaeological connections add another topic of interest for culturally minded travellers alongside the historic buildings.
