Wasquehal combines public animal education activities with ice skating, water sports, culture and markets. The venues and programmes have different focuses: Ferme Dehaudt offers animal activities year-round, the canal trip is part of a dated schedule, and cultural events take place at the cinema and Espace Gérard-Philipe. For planning, it helps to decide which subject you’re interested in first, then check the relevant dates. The day of the week matters for a market visit too, as the markets take place twice a week in the town centre.

Animals and the Canal in Wasquehal

Ferme Dehaudt is a leisure and meeting place centred around animals. It offers public animal education activities year-round, including feeding sessions. The farm is on the Marque and close to the Plaine de jeux; the animal education activities, riverside setting and play area give this place its distinctive character.

The 2026 schedule includes guided canal trips of about one hour aboard the passenger boat La Décidée, starting on 11 April. The boarding point in Wasquehal is next to Ferme Dehaudt. Unlike the year-round animal education activities, the boat trip follows a dated schedule. Check the trip dates before planning your visit.

Ice Skating and Activities on the Ice

The Patinoire Serge-Charles is entirely dedicated to ice activities and sports. Its ice rink measures 1,456 m². It offers public skating sessions, themed events and a range of leisure activities on the ice. Ice is the common focus of these activities. If you want to attend a particular skating session or event, check its date.

Heritage, Cinema and Events

The Church of Saint-Nicolas is a landmark of Wasquehal’s heritage. Its stained-glass windows, high altar, bell tower and façade have been restored. The restoration therefore encompasses both details of the church interior and the building’s exterior.

Cultural events come in different formats: Cinéma Gérard-Philipe offers public screenings, school screenings and a themed evening every month. Espace Gérard-Philipe hosts concerts and theatre, dance and singing events during Wasquehal’s cultural season. The main difference between the cinema and the events venue is their focus on film on the one hand, and stage performances and music on the other. Check the dates and current programme for your stay.

Swimming, Fitness and Relaxation

Centre Nautique Calypso has a 25-metre sports pool and a 50 m² balneotherapy pool with a jacuzzi and water lounge. To distinguish between the different water areas, their names are a useful guide: one is designated as a sports pool, the other as a balneotherapy pool. Activities include swimming, aqua fitness, a baby club, prenatal swimming, gymnastics for seniors, fitness training and relaxation activities. The different pools and activities therefore have their own focuses within the aquatic facilities.

Markets in the Town Centre

Wasquehal’s markets take place twice a week in the town centre and offer fresh local produce such as fruit, vegetables, cheese and meat. You can plan a market visit around the market days; for a cultural evening, the relevant dates are those of the performance or event. Check the market days and event dates in advance if you’d like to include one of these activities in your stay.
