If you’re looking for a hotel in Sebourg, you can plan your trip around specific interests: cycling, walking, local history or regional produce. Sebourg offers several themes to explore: a tourist cycling loop through the Aunelle Valley, the Les Censes de Sebourg walk, historic buildings, and the Moulin de Sebourg and Bar de l’Aunelle.

Trails and countryside

The full tourist cycling loop through the Aunelle Valley is 48.2 kilometres long and is marked in both directions with blue and green directional signs. Check the route before setting off, as trail details may change. The Les Censes de Sebourg walk is marked with yellow signs and waymarkers; these should also be checked on site. When choosing a route, you can therefore use different points of reference: the total distance and blue-and-green signs for the cycling loop, and waymarkers and yellow signs for the walk.

The countryside around Sebourg has the characteristic features of the Avesnois: grassy meadows, gentle hills and a distinctive bocage landscape. The Les Censes de Sebourg route includes a viewpoint overlooking the Aunelle. This specific view of the landscape complements the trail markers.

Local history and buildings

The Cense Martinache is an 18th-century quadrangular farmhouse. It formerly served as a cossetterie, where chicory roots were roasted and marketed. The building’s history thus encompasses both its farmhouse design and its former processing activity. The church in Sebourg dates from the 12th century and is classified as a historic monument. The buildings date from different centuries.

On the walking route through Sebourg, the Sainte-Marie-Madeleine Chapel follows the Cascade. Access to the chapel may vary. The Fort du Talandier is being renovated; events about the site’s history are also held there. If you’re planning to visit the fort, check access arrangements in advance. If you’d like to plan your stay around events about local history, check the dates.

Mill and refreshments

Visitors can still buy flour directly at the Moulin de Sebourg. The Morage family has continued its flour-making expertise there since 1928. The mill therefore brings together a long-standing flour-making tradition and the option to buy flour directly.

In the centre of Sebourg, the Bar de l’Aunelle welcomes walkers and visitors all year round. It serves “La sebourgeoise” on tap, a beer brewed specifically for the café by Brasserie d’Amblise in Crespin. The mill and café offer different culinary experiences: flour-making with direct sales, and a beer brewed for the café.
