When planning a stay in Eyne, you can start by distinguishing between the focus of your outings: the Balade Archéologique leads to named archaeological features, the Prat d’en Sicardo interpretation trail combines a circular route with themed stops, while the Pla du Cambre d’Aze hiking trail can be assessed by its difficulty, duration and elevation gain. The Cami de Nuria, with its destination at Col de Nuria, offers a different focus. This lets you consider a cultural trail, a shorter loop and a mountain route according to different interests and route profiles.

Archaeological trails and interpretation trail

The Balade Archéologique leads to the El pou tomb, dated to 2200 BC, and passes by the megalithic dolmen Els Pasquerets. The route thus links two distinct archaeological features: El pou is a tomb with a specific date, while Els Pasquerets is a named dolmen. If you want to choose a trail with an archaeological focus, you can take in both a dated tomb and a megalithic feature.

The Prat d’en Sicardo interpretation trail is an easy circular route of about four kilometres. It starts at the Vallée d’Eyne nature reserve car park, takes approximately one and a half hours and has an elevation gain of 100 metres. The route includes eight themed stops and a fun, educational guidebook. The guidebook covers the nature reserve, the landscape and human activities. You can therefore choose this loop not only by its length and elevation gain, but also by its subject matter.

Mountain trails and route profiles

The Cami de Nuria leads to the Spanish border at Col de Nuria. Conditions on this mountain route vary seasonally. Take this into account when planning and check conditions before your hike.

The Pla du Cambre d’Aze hiking trail starts at the Eyne 2600 resort. It is moderately difficult, 6.6 kilometres long, takes about three hours and has an elevation gain of 340 metres. As an optional out-and-back route, the trail leads to the foot of the Cirque at an altitude of 2,350 metres, where you can view the rock formation. This route thus offers both a measurable route profile and a named destination from which to view the rock formation.

Compared with Prat d’en Sicardo, Pla du Cambre d’Aze is the longer and more time-consuming of the two routes with specific profiles: 6.6 kilometres rather than about four, and approximately three hours rather than one and a half. Its elevation gain is also greater, at 340 rather than 100 metres; the difficulty ratings differ too, from easy to moderate. This comparison can help you weigh the time required and each route’s profile when planning.

Seasonal access conditions may vary on the Prat d’en Sicardo and Pla du Cambre d’Aze hiking trails. Check them before your hike.
