Rasiguères combines winegrowing with surroundings shaped by garrigue. The Maury appellation, the Les Vignerons de Trémoine cooperative winery, La Poterie du Carbassou pottery, and the Tour de Trémoine provide concrete starting points for planning your trip—from wine styles to crafts and landscapes.

Maury wines and the landscape

The Maury appellation also includes Rasiguères and is associated with hills of shale and black marl. This makes it possible to understand the area both through its place within the wine appellation and through the rock types found in its surroundings.

The AOP Maury includes white and red wines; depending on how they are made, they may be in oxidized or non-oxidized styles. The “Vendange,” “Récolte,” and “Vintage” styles are aged for at least twelve months and are considered full-bodied and complex, with notes of black fruit. White or red refers to the type of wine, while oxidized or non-oxidized describes a possible style of winemaking. These distinctions help make sense of the variety of Maury wines without treating their different characteristics as interchangeable.

The small Les Vignerons de Trémoine cooperative winery is located in Rasiguères at the upper end of the Vallée de l’Agly and has been known for the quality of its wines since 1919.

Wine walks and group tours

Les Passéjade de Trémoine combines a wine walk starting at the winery in Rasiguères with an exploration of the terroir, a wine tasting, and a convivial meal hosted by a winemaker. If you are planning a walk with a tasting and a meal, this named experience brings all three together. Check dates and availability in advance.

Group tours at Les Vignerons de Trémoine are available on request. Check before your visit whether a tour is possible and when.

Pottery classes and ceramics

La Poterie du Carbassou offers pottery classes in Rasiguères. The pottery studio also makes ceramics inspired by archaeological and traditional heritage, including medieval and Gallo-Roman pottery as well as medieval tiles. Classes and finished pieces offer two different ways to engage with the craft: hands-on learning and an exploration of historically inspired forms. If you would like to include a class or a visit to the studio in your trip, confirm access before visiting.

Garrigue and the Tour de Trémoine

The family-friendly “Autour de Trémoine” circular trail passes through rich, fragrant, wild garrigue, loops around the Tour de Trémoine, and explores the Fenouillèdes wine-growing area. From the viewpoints, the panorama extends across the whole region to the Pyrenees. While Les Passéjade de Trémoine combines a wine walk, tasting, and a meal hosted by a winemaker, “Autour de Trémoine” focuses on the garrigue, the circular trail, and the views.

The Tour de Trémoine biotope area spans Rasiguères and Planèzes and has been protected by a prefectural biotope protection order (APPB) since 1991. It is part of the “Basses Corbières” Natura 2000 site.

Entry into the biotope perimeter is prohibited from January 15 to June 30. Owners and their legal successors are exempt when carrying out routine maintenance on their property. Check the current prefectural order before setting out on a walk.
