Coulobres offers several starting points for a stay focused on trails, views and scenery. When looking for a hotel for your stay in Coulobres, the specific highlights can help you decide: at Pech Bellonet, trails wind through undergrowth; the wine route offers views of Abeilhan and vineyards; and cycling loop No. 15 provides information about distance and duration. The church and cadastral maps add architectural and landscape history to the picture.

Trails and Views at Pech Bellonet

The Pech Bellonet recreation area lies behind the village church, on a wooded hill covering four hectares. An orientation board and a viewpoint offer panoramic views of nearby Puissalicon and the Mediterranean vegetation. Trails pass through undergrowth and open up views of the surrounding plain. The viewpoint and trails offer different perspectives: the panorama of Puissalicon and the Mediterranean vegetation from the viewpoint, and views across the plain from the trails.

Dogs are allowed at Pech Bellonet if kept on a leash. Check the local rules before setting out. On 20 October 2023, the municipality announced that the health trail at Pech Bellonet had been completed and was accessible to everyone. Check whether the trail is currently accessible before your visit.

Wine Country and Cycling Route

The OENORANDO® route “La Thongue et ses coteaux” runs through the Côtes de Thongue wine-growing area, which is associated with IGP Côtes de Thongue wines. On the section through Coulobres, Avenue du Pech Bellonet offers views of Abeilhan and the vineyards.

Cycling loop No. 15 is a 22.3 km circuit with 186 m of elevation gain and an estimated duration of two hours. For planning, these figures provide different details: the loop’s distance, its elevation gain and an estimated time frame. Check route conditions before setting off. The route goes to Servian via the D146E2 in the direction of Coulobres. After a short climb, the directions for loop No. 15 present the Church of Saint-Félix-de-Gérone in Coulobres as a place to visit; it was built in the Southern Gothic style.

The OENORANDO® route connects Coulobres with the wine-growing landscape, while cycling loop No. 15 focuses on distance, elevation gain and estimated duration. This makes it possible to distinguish between the two routes according to their different highlights.

Architecture, Landscape History and Culture

The landscape also has a historical connection: cadastral maps from the early 19th century show clear traces of Centuriation “B” in the municipality’s landscape. Together with the Southern Gothic church, they offer two distinct perspectives: a building in the village and traces visible in the landscape on historical maps.

The Médiathèque de Coulobres is located near the village hall. The bright, spacious building covers more than 100 m² and contains several areas. The cultural calendar is used for event announcements.
