Feucherolles combines connections to nature with sacred architectural history, local transport history and golf. Which of these aspects shapes your stay depends on your interests; each has specific features to discover in the area.

Nature and landscape

The northeastern part of the commune of Feucherolles lies on the western edge of the vast Forêt de Marly. The ZNIEFF Forêt de Marly includes the commune and is of particular botanical interest. Ten characteristic plant species are found there, six of which are protected. Thus, alongside its location on the edge of the forest, the area's plant life also stands out as a distinct connection to nature. For nature-minded travellers, this gives the forest theme a specific botanical dimension.

Churches and heritage

The Église Sainte-Geneviève dates from the 11th and 12th centuries and combines Romanesque art with early Gothic elements. It was classified as a Monument historique in 1886. Its furnishings include polychrome statues of the Virgin Mary and Saint Clare from the 15th century, as well as an older statue of Saint Denis. All three are listed in the inventory of Monuments historiques. The building's history and its furnishings reflect different periods: the church itself evokes the Middle Ages, while the statues add further historical layers.

The Chapelle Sainte-Gemme represents a different period. Roland Gosselin, Bishop of Versailles, consecrated it in August 1929. It no longer serves a religious function, but retains its distinctive charm. Compared with the Église Sainte-Geneviève, the chapel's year of consecration belongs to a much later period in the area's religious history.

Local history

The Maison de la Plaine is housed in the former Feucherolles railway station, the last surviving reminder of the Versailles–Maule tramway line (TVM). From 1899 to 1944, the line served the villages of the Plaine de Versailles. The building also houses the headquarters of the Association patrimoniale de la Plaine de Versailles et du Plateau des Alluets (APPVPA). The site thus brings together the history of the former tramway and an institution connected with the Plaine de Versailles.

The Lavoir de Feucherolles is located near the pond on Rue de l’Étang. It complements the larger architectural and transport themes with a specific local landmark.

Walking and golf

Golf de Feucherolles covers 65 hectares in a wooded landscape with five lakes. Exclusiv Golf de Feucherolles has an 18-hole course; its practice area has four covered and eleven grass teeing mats. For golf enthusiasts, both the natural setting and specific details about the course and practice facilities are highlights.

The GR1 also passes through Feucherolles. A route description dated September 2, 2024, takes the trail through the Parc de Marly-le-Roi and its forest in the Yvelines département. The route described then reaches Feucherolles, where its loop begins. If you are using this route to plan your trip, check the current route before setting out.
