Tigery: Discover forests, leisure and culture
Accommodation in Tigery
In Tigery, you can plan a stay combining woodland landscapes, green spaces, outdoor activities and culture. The area’s attractions offer a range of ways to shape your trip.
Forests and landscapes
Part of northern Tigery lies within the ZNIEFF Type II “Forêt de Sénart,” an area of ecological interest. The northern half contains 340 hectares of woodland, equivalent to more than 36 percent of the municipality. In the north, part of Tigery lies within the ZNIEFF Type II “Forêt de Sénart,” an area of ecological interest; woodland covers more than 36 percent of the municipality.
The protected Allée Royale serves as a discovery trail. From there, you can observe the tree stands on the plateau and the effects of the forest edge. The trail therefore offers a tangible connection to the landscape alongside the extensive woodland.
Green spaces and outdoor activities
The Coulée verte at the ZAC du Plessis Saucourt is a ten-hectare green space. Unlike the Allée Royale, it offers leisure facilities, including a workout area, Teqball, a City-Stade multi-sport pitch and a skatepark. Check the current status of the facilities before your visit.
Another outdoor fitness trail is beside a lake near Le Clos school on Rue du Lac. The Faisanderie de Sénart, in the municipality of Tigery in the Essonne département, is a starting point for accessing hundreds of kilometres of forest trails. This means there are several ways to get active: the fitness trail by the lake, various leisure facilities at the Coulée verte and trails in the woodland. The Faisanderie de Sénart is a former 18th-century hunting lodge and is now a forest education centre. Throughout the year, it offers school groups and companies nature activities focused on discovering, managing and preserving the forest ecosystem. This nature programme for organised groups complements access to the forest trails with an educational perspective on woodland.
Culture in Tigery
Le Silo is a 300-seat performance venue with a strong focus on comedy. Another strand of its programme is devoted to contemporary music, especially chanson, pop, folk and festive music. Its cultural offering therefore spans comedy and several genres of music.
The Médiathèque also hosts numerous events throughout the year, including “La Clé des Livres,” “L’Histoire des bébés” and the “Il était une fois” workshop. Individual performances and activities may change, so check the relevant dates for your travel dates.
