Angerville offers several options to consider when planning your trip: churches with different phases of construction, a weekly market, an intercommunal media library and opportunities to stay active. You can make local history, a market visit or sporting activities the focus of your stay.

Churches and architectural history

The Église Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Eutrope may date back to the 12th century; most of its current architecture dates from the 15th century. The western portal dates from the late 15th century and reuses two Romanesque columns from the 12th century. The church also contains a stained-glass window described as “verrière du chevet comportant 3 lancettes”: it was created in 1883 and has been listed as a protected object since April 9, 1984. The church cannot be visited during services. Take this restriction into account when planning and check the current access conditions before your visit.

Only one tower remains of the fortification wall that once surrounded Angerville. In Dommerville, the Église Saint Germain is another church with its own history: it is Romanesque and is mentioned in written records as early as 1250. Three of its stained-glass windows date from 1905 and bear the signature of stained-glass artist Henri Carot.

The Château de Dommerville is another historic landmark. The Marquis de Hallot commissioned its construction in 1777; the château is classified as a historic monument and is used for various types of receptions. The Romanesque church, the stained-glass windows and the château represent different aspects of local architectural and cultural history.

Market and cultural offerings

The weekly market takes place in the town centre every Tuesday morning. Food is sold by butchers, cheesemongers and greengrocers. If a market visit suits your stay, you can take this regular market day into account when planning. Another local event is the Cavalcade, held every two years: the parade features floats decorated with crepe-paper flowers. If you would like to plan your trip around this event, check the specific date before making plans.

The Médiathèque intercommunale Lucien Chaumette is a cultural facility of more than 400 square metres, with leisure, reading and work areas for all age groups. Its collection comprises nearly 11,000 items, including books, magazines, DVDs and CDs. The ground-floor workshop provides space for gatherings, performances, conferences, exhibitions and workshops. The cultural offering therefore includes both media and work areas, as well as a range of event formats.

The sculpture “tigre-moustique” by Christophe Dumont stands in the forecourt of the media library. It was made from recycled materials. Its location in the forecourt and its design make it a distinct artistic feature alongside the facilities inside the building.

Activities and getting around

The Angerville pump track is freely accessible, unsupervised and intended for users aged three and up. The facility has three marked routes for beginners, intermediate riders and experienced users. It is therefore not just a single loop: the routes are designated for different skill levels. It is advisable to check the current access rules before your visit.

The Piscine intercommunale d’Angerville has two pools, one of which is covered, allowing the facility to be used year-round. For specific planning, check the current operating information. Those looking for outdoor exercise will find a named wooded area, the Bois de la piscine, which is used for walks, cross-training and picnics.

For cyclists, the Cyclo Club Angerville organises the annual “rallye plaine et vent” bike ride, which is open to everyone. The club also offers road rides, mainly on weekends and public holidays, starting at the club premises. Dates may change, so it is worth checking the latest ride information before making plans.

Travellers have access to two free car parks near the railway station. If you rely on this parking option, check the latest information about parking conditions before you travel.
