If you’re looking for a hotel in Voiteur, you can plan your trip around two themes: the wines of Fruitière Vinicole and routes with different landscapes and activity levels. A challenging mountain bike loop starts and ends in Voiteur; other routes take in vineyards, the Seille, or the Domblans arboretum.

Wine Tasting and Jura Wines

Fruitière Vinicole de Voiteur was founded in the late 1950s and brings together around 60 winegrowers with a total of 70 hectares of vineyards. At its cellar at the foot of Château-Chalon, you can discover and taste the wines. The wines available for individual purchase include Jura wines such as AOC Château-Chalon, AOC Côtes du Jura, and AOC L’Etoile, as well as Vin Jaune and Vin de Paille. This lets you combine a tasting with a purchase from a selection of regional wines. Check the latest details about tastings and the range before visiting.

Mountain Bike Routes from Voiteur

The challenging mountain bike loop “Le Tour de Château-Chalon à VTT – 5R” is 8.8 kilometres long, starts and ends in Voiteur, and passes through the APPB “Corniches calcaires – Château-Chalon”. This protected biotope area lies on the cliffs of Château-Chalon and protects, among other species, peregrine falcons and eagle owls. When planning, take local trail conditions into account; seasonal restrictions may apply to the route.

The “Les Châteaux de la Haute Seille – 8N” route starts at the car park of the tourist office in Voiteur, initially follows the meanders of the Seille, and takes you to the Domblans arboretum. It is accessible to electric-assist mountain bikes. The 5R is the specifically designated challenging loop; the 8N connects its starting point in Voiteur with the Seille, the arboretum, and access for e-mountain bikes.

Vineyards and Other Scenic Routes

The “Montée de Château-Chalon” route passes through vineyards particularly known for Vin Jaune and reaches Château-Chalon. The “Ravaillac – 7R” route passes the vineyards of Lavigny and Le Vernois and offers distant views of the plains of the Bresse Jurassienne. If you want to factor scenery into your route choice, you can choose between different highlights: vineyards associated with Vin Jaune and Château-Chalon, or vineyards with distant views of the Bresse plains.
