When looking for a hotel in Sagone, it helps to consider the coastal town in terms of the experiences you’re seeking during your stay. Sagone is a seaside resort that is partly shared with the municipality of Vico. The beach, water sports, a coastal walk and historic sites offer different starting points for planning your trip. The activities vary in nature, from sports equipment rentals to an archaeological site.

Water sports and the beach

Swimming is supervised at Sagone Beach. Supervision is seasonal, so check local information before your visit. The beach also has a mooring area for sports and leisure boats.

At Sagone Glisse, you can rent kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, surfboards and pedal boats. The provider operates two water sports centres: one in Sagone and one at the Liamone. Sagone Glisse also offers beginner and advanced surfing or stand-up paddling lessons. Your choice will therefore depend both on the water sport and on what you’re looking for: renting equipment or taking a surfing or stand-up paddling lesson.

If you’re more interested in diving than paddling or surfing, Sagone Plongée in Sagone offers diving courses, introductory dives and dives. This lets you choose according to the activity that interests you.

On foot and on horseback

The trail at Pointe du Triu Sagone takes about an hour to circle the headland. The views also change along the way: on the outward leg, the vista stretches across the Gulf of Sagone; on the return, it looks out over the Gulf of Cargèse. The approximate duration and two distinct views give the trail a clear place in your day’s plans.

The rides offered by Ranch de Sagone provide another way to experience the landscape. They pass through maquis, river scenery and mountains, follow former mule tracks and reach goat sheds. Availability may change, so check in advance.

Genoese tower and archaeological site

The Tour génoise de Sagone has been listed as a historic monument by decree dated 19 April 1974. A small path leads to the structure; you must cross a low barrier beforehand. As it is in poor condition, access arrangements may change. Check them before visiting.

Another site with historical significance is the archaeological site of Sant’Appianu. You can reach it by car, and parking is available. Check access information before setting off. This site can therefore be planned as a separate visit, while the circular trail at Pointe du Triu Sagone has an approximate duration and two named viewpoints.
