Labergement-Lès-Seurre brings together several aspects of local history and landscape that you can consider when planning a hotel stay: church architecture, a spring-fed washhouse, fountains, ponds, fishing and hiking trails. The cultural landmarks offer a different focus from fishing at the Sablière Fédérale or a walking tour. For your plans, the stated distances and difficulty levels of the two hiking routes are also useful.

Church, washhouse and local tradition

The present-day Église paroissiale de l'Assomption was built from 1856 to 1858, after an older church dating from the 15th century was demolished. The Neo-Gothic pulpit has a hexagonal pulpit bowl and a suspended sounding board; carved reliefs and gilded stucco decoration complete its design. The church’s construction history and the style of a single furnishing thus represent different aspects of the cultural heritage.

At the Lavoir de la Violette, the focus is on the water supply and the building’s date: a spring feeds the washhouse, whose overflow flows constantly. It is thought to date from the last quarter of the 19th century. The narrow Genotte stream runs beside the Fontaine Rouillouse. Its water, which is high in iron, turns red as soon as it comes into contact with the air.

The Oratoire Saint-Roch is a roadside shrine dating from the 19th century on the road to Beaune. The Fontaine Bassinet, also called the Fontaine des Princes, is part of local tradition too: according to legend, Louis XIV rested in the shade of an oak tree that has since disappeared.

Ponds and fishing

Labergement-lès-Seurre has eight ponds. Fishing is possible at the Sablière Fédérale, which covers 26 hectares. The lake offers gently sloping banks, picnic areas and parking for a family fishing outing. It also has areas where pike-perch and other fish species can reproduce, and is in a direct, permanent connection with the Saône.

Before your visit, check the information about facilities and access on site, and find out about current fishing regulations. This will help you take both local visitor conditions and fishing rules into account.

Hiking on two routes

Footpaths are also part of Labergement-lès-Seurre’s leisure and cultural landscape. The easy, 9-kilometre circular hike “Boucle Labergement les Seurre en passant par Chivres” starts in Jossigny. It passes through fields and a village near a forest on the way to Chivres, then returns through the lower part of Labergement and passes a washhouse.

The very easy “Sentier du chevreuil” circular hike is 8.6 kilometres long and includes a section through a forest. The route passes through Labergement-lès-Seurre at kilometre 3.65. The two hikes are similar in length: the difference is 0.4 kilometres. However, their stated difficulty levels differ: one is very easy, the other easy. Check current trail conditions before setting off.
