Fixin offers several themes for a stay: listed heritage, buildings from different centuries, wine, hiking and climbing. The Route des Grands Crus passes through the town. Parc Noisot’s sculptures and the Hundred Steps staircase are part of the protected park; the Combe de Fixin and Clos Saint Louis winery complement these highlights with outdoor activities and a hands-on wine experience. If you’re looking for a hotel for your trip to Fixin, these interests can help you decide what you’d like your stay to focus on.

Parc Noisot and the Musée Noisot

Parc Noisot was designated a historic monument by decree on 7 August 2024. The protected park includes sculptures and the Hundred Steps staircase. The Musée Noisot has held the designation “Musée de France” since 17 September 2003. Its collections comprise mementos of Napoleon I and are housed in a building that once belonged to Claude Noisot. This gives the cultural side of your trip two distinct highlights: the park’s protected features and the museum’s Napoleon collection.

Architectural history in Fixin and Fixey

The buildings also offer different historical and chronological reference points. The Church of Saint-Martin in Fixin dates from the late 12th century; the Manoir de la Perrière is a manor house dating from the 12th century. The manor house also has a history of ownership: it belonged to the monks of Cîteaux until 1622. In Fixey, you’ll find the Chapel of Saint-Antoine, dedicated to Saint Anthony and the oldest Romanesque building in the Côte Dijonnaise.

Fixin’s central washhouse was built in 1827 on the ruins of an earlier washhouse. Its water has a very high iron content. These examples differ in function and building history: religious buildings, a manor house with its own history of ownership, and a washhouse with an earlier predecessor. If you enjoy exploring historic architecture through distinctions like these, you’ll find several clearly dated points of reference.

Routes, the Combe and wine experiences

The Route des Grands Crus passes through Fixin. Another highlight for outdoor activities is the Combe de Fixin: it’s very popular with hikers and climbers, with more than 200 climbing routes on site. For climbers, the number of routes is a concrete point of reference; the Combe is also popular with hikers. The route and the Combe therefore cater to different interests when planning a trip.

At the Clos Saint Louis winery, the experience takes you from the vineyard to the cellar: visitors can take a full tour followed by a tasting of the winery’s own wines. This is a specific wine experience, distinct from following the route through Fixin or enjoying outdoor activities in the Combe.
