Discover Bellerive-Sur-Allier
Accommodation in Bellerive-Sur-Allier
When planning a stay in Bellerive-Sur-Allier, hiking trails, sports facilities, parks and events offer different points of interest. Specific highlights include two named routes, golf and swimming, horse racing, and cultural events. If you are looking for a hotel, you can use these interests to decide which activities you want to shape your stay.
Hiking routes and green spaces
The Boucle du Lac is 6.3 km long and runs around Lac d’Allier. The Boucle des Isles is a 12.7 km circular route between Bellerive, Vichy and Hauterive. This gives you two different scales to compare: a shorter loop around the lake and a longer route connecting three named places. Both the distance and the landmarks along each route are therefore relevant when planning.
The Forêt de Montpensier runs along the boundary of Bellerive. It extends towards Serbannes, Brugheas and Aigueperse and offers hiking trails, including the PR43, for walks on foot or by bicycle. The woodland trails add another option to the two circular routes for days when you want to explore the surrounding area on foot or by bike.
Park, château and events
The Bost estate, also known as Box, and Château du Bost have been documented since the early 15th century. The château was probably built under Charles VII. The documented history of the site thus dates back to the early 15th century, while the attribution of its construction date remains expressly tentative.
The freely accessible grounds of Château du Bost include an orchard, notable trees, a walking trail, a pond and a small square. The combination of garden, path and water offers different ways to enjoy time outdoors. The château hosts “Légendes d’automne,” music school concerts and a nature festival throughout the year.
The Park of the Intermittent Spring is also an event venue, hosting numerous events and markets throughout the year. Individual programmes may change. If a particular date matters for your trip, check the specific event dates as you plan.
Golf, swimming and other sports facilities
Golf du Sporting-Club has an 18-hole course, which non-members can also book. The golf school offers activities for children and seniors, as well as private and group lessons. Both the bookable course and the different lesson formats and target groups are therefore worth considering.
The Stade Aquatique has an indoor sports pool and an outdoor sports pool. It also features an indoor leisure pool with a slide, a learning pool, a paddling pool and a fitness area. Its facilities therefore include several types of pool and a dedicated fitness area, making it quite different from the options available at the golf course or on the woodland trails.
France’s largest multisport park covers 120 hectares of wooded land on the shores of Lac d’Allier. Its indoor and outdoor facilities allow visitors to practise around 60 sports. Its size, wooded setting and range of sports make the park another major hub for sporting activities, in addition to golf, swimming and the trails through green spaces.
Horse racing throughout the year
Horse racing has been held at the Vichy-Bellerive racecourse since 1875. During the season, from May to October, around 40 trotting and flat races are held there. Specific dates may vary from year to year; if you want to include a race in your travel plans, check the calendar for the relevant year.
