Baldersheim offers several distinct ways to explore during a stay: the Quatelbach and the circuit named after it, the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, as well as cultural and recreational activities. If you are looking for a hotel, these themes can help you decide which aspects of the town you would like to explore. The Circuit offers a specific route, while the church represents architectural and art history; exhibitions and publications by the Histoire de Baldersheim group, as well as a spring concert by Concordia, add to the cultural side, while the pump track is the sporting highlight.

Exploring the Quatelbach

The Quatelbach runs through Baldersheim and is an irrigation canal. The Circuit du Quatelbach runs along both banks, a 5 km family walking route between Baldersheim and Battenheim. The watercourse and its banks give the route a clear connection to the town. For planning, its length and classification as a family walking route are useful points of reference. Seasonal conditions can vary; check them before your trip.

The entire Circuit can also be ridden on a VTC (all-terrain bicycle). This means the same route can be enjoyed either as a walk or as a ride on a VTC. If you plan to walk, you can use its classification as a family walking route as a guide. For a VTC ride, check that your equipment is suitable for the current conditions.

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul and its history

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul is located in Baldersheim on rue de l'Eglise and was built in 1780. The church houses a statue of the Virgin Mary and Child dating from 1680. The two dates are exactly one hundred years apart: the statue is therefore older than the church building. Visitors interested in the history of religious sites can consider the construction date and the date the statue was made as separate points of reference. Thus, a specific year of construction and an older depiction inside the church offer two distinct historical perspectives.

Exhibitions and cultural events

The Histoire de Baldersheim group holds exhibitions every year and publishes works about life in the village. The exhibitions and publications offer different ways to learn about Baldersheim. Dates and availability may vary; before your trip, check whether an exhibition is planned for your dates or whether a particular publication is available.

Baldersheim has also hosted a traditional spring concert by Concordia. If you would like to include cultural events in your travel plans, check the event dates for your stay. The concert is a different cultural option from the group's exhibitions and publications; check each of these offerings separately for its schedule or availability.

The pump track as a sporting highlight

A pump track was built behind Baldersheim's sports complex. It covers an area of 1,600 m². A report from April 2022 recorded its completion and use; if you plan to visit the facility, check its current condition before you travel. The area figure describes a different type of recreational offering from the 5 km route along the Quatelbach: here, it is a facility with a specified surface area, whereas there it is a route of a stated length. This distinction can help you choose between a route and a sporting destination in the town.
