Trenčianske Teplice: Thermal Waters, Hammam and Spa Park
Accommodation in Trenčianske Teplice
The town’s features offer concrete points of reference. This lets you assess the destination based on what matters most to you when travelling: bathing facilities, historical culture or the route between the two towns.
Thermal Waters and Bathing Facilities
The heated outdoor GRAND swimming pool is open to spa guests, visitors to Trenčianske Teplice and local residents. The Trenčianske Teplice thermal spa includes the Sina thermal pool, the MUDr. Čapka – PI pool, the PII and PIII pools, and the PK pool at Krym. The bathing facilities therefore include a heated outdoor pool and several pools identified by name.
Six natural healing springs are currently used for external and internal balneotherapy. The healing water used in pools and baths is heated to between 35.5 and 39°C. The springs and the listed pools are different aspects of the bathing facilities: the springs are used for balneotherapy, while the list names the pools at the spa.
Hammam, Spa Park and Kursalon
The spa architecture includes the Hammam, built in 1888 next to the Sina Mirror Bath in an Oriental-Moorish style. The local tourist information office regularly organises tours of the historic Hammam. It is located next to the main entrance of the Hotel Slovakia. If you would like to plan a tour, you can check the dates with the office.
Trenčianske Teplice Spa Park is an 18-hectare English-style park established in 1873. The Kursalon was built in 1892 as a venue for social and cultural events; since then, it has hosted concerts and balls of a high standard. The timeline brings together three distinct facets of the spa’s history: park design, bathing architecture at the Hammam, and the social and cultural life of the Kursalon.
Traditional crafts were also featured at a major cultural event. At the 23rd Festival ľudových remesiel, visitors could learn about traditional working methods and techniques, and view and buy handmade products. This edition also included a craft market and an extensive cultural programme.
Train and Cycle Path to Trenčianska Teplá
The Trenčianska elektrická železnica is a 116-year-old narrow-gauge railway. It connects the railway junction at Trenčianska Teplá with the spa town of Trenčianske Teplice and offers irregular tourist passenger services. If you plan to include the train in your trip, check the timetable in advance.
A marked cycle path also runs from Trenčianske Teplice to Trenčianska Teplá. There are therefore different transport options for planning your journey between the two towns: tourist passenger services on the irregular train service, or a marked cycling route. Which option suits your stay depends on whether you would like to travel by narrow-gauge train or use the cycle path.
