Jezersko can be explored through several distinct themes: Ski Bachledova in the upper part of the village, hiking trails by Jezerské Lake, and the historical background of local life. If you are looking for a hotel in Jezersko, your planned activities can provide an initial guide when choosing a destination. The differences between winter sports, trails, and local history can help you plan your stay around your own interests.

Nature Reserve and Jezerské Lake

The Jezerské jazero Nature Reserve was designated in 1967, covers 2.18 hectares, and lies in the southern part of the cadastral area, about two kilometres southwest of the built-up area of Jezersko. Jezerské Lake was formed by a landslide. Its usual depth is two to four metres, reaching a maximum of 7.5 metres.

Hiking trails by the lake

A green-marked hiking trail leads from Jezersko to Jezerské Lake. A nature trail runs from Jezersko around the lake and onward to the ridge, the PANORAMA restaurant, and the Treetop Walk. The destinations described differ: the lake is the destination on the green-marked trail, while the nature trail also includes the ridge and the two named stops.

The nature trail is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. If you are planning the hike, check the trail markings and local conditions. Terrain and seasonal accessibility may be a factor; take the restriction for pushchairs and wheelchairs into account when planning.

Ski Bachledova in the upper part of Jezersko

The Ski Bachledova ski area is located in the upper part of Jezersko. It has 13 regularly groomed runs with a total length of 11 kilometres.

There are also four ski lifts and a four-seat chairlift in the upper part. The chairlift takes you to the ridge of the Spišská Magura; from there, you can continue to other ski runs in the direction of Bachledova dolina, part of the municipality of Ždiar. For planning your trip, both the runs and the described connection over the ridge are relevant. As the configuration may change seasonally, check the ski area's current information before travelling.

History of Jezersko

Historical sources mention Jezersko in 1590 as a manor farm or clearing belonging to the Nedecký Castle estate. In 1611, a bailiff's charter granting the right to brew beer was issued in Jezersko to Šoltýs Christotor from Spišské Hanušovce. The two dates point to different aspects of the village's history: the 1590 reference to landholding and settlement type, and the 1611 charter to a specific brewing right.

The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus also has a specific year of construction: it was built in 1895. These three historical points offer different perspectives on Jezersko—from its settlement and landholding history, through the right to brew beer, to the architectural history of the church.
