Water attractions, cycling trips and local sights come together in Kaluža as different themes to consider when planning a trip. Thermalpark Šírava and pools

Thermalpark Šírava is located on the Medvedia hora peninsula in the municipality of Kaluža. Its water area includes a wave pool and a swimming pool. The park also has a wellness centre focused on relaxation, with a sauna world, as well as various attractions: a long and a short slide, a lazy river, a swing bay and a children's playground. In the centre of Kaluža on Zemplínska Šírava, the non-swimmers' pool is 112 metres long, 12 metres wide and 1.2 metres deep. These figures make its proportions tangible: its length and width are specified, as is its depth. The pool has been in operation since 2003; operating arrangements may change. The pool complex includes two children's pools, each 40 centimetres deep. Compared with the non-swimmers' pool at 1.2 metres, the difference in the stated depth is clearly quantified. Architecture and local attractions

The Greek Catholic Church “Gréckokatolícky kostol sv. Tomáša” is a single-nave eclectic building. The presbytery ends in a semicircle; the church is also described as having a projecting tower dating from 1928. “Single-nave” refers to the building's basic form, while the semicircular end refers to the presbytery. Those interested in architecture can thus appreciate the building's form, its ending and its tower as distinct features. The monument “Pamätník osloboditeľom obce Kaluža” is also one of the municipality's attractions. It adds a specifically named memorial site to the local architectural features.

Cycling routes with different destinations

The Kaluža–Morské oko cycling route starts in Kaluža, heads east towards Jovsa and continues to Lake Morské oko. Another route, Kaluža–Vyšná Rybnica, runs from Kaluža via Kusín, Jovsa and Poruba pod Vihorlatom to Vyšná Rybnica. The destinations differ, as do the route itineraries described: the route to Morské oko specifies the eastward direction towards Jovsa, while several places along the route to Vyšná Rybnica are listed.
